My guest on Line Noise this week is New York city mainstay Junior Sanchez, a man who really has done it all in dance music since he started DJing at the tender age of 11: he’s remixed Madonna, formed house supergroup Da Mongoloids with Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Armand van Helden, DJ Sneak and more; and even worked with Katy Perry. His new record Art-O-Fact (Detroit Remix) arrives on Carl Craig’s Planet E label on October 11 and we talked about that; about Detroit and Miami; about Da Mongoloids’ album plans; his love of The Prodigy and even Tatu. It was a wonderful, far-reaching conversation (albeit with a slightly raspy sound) and I hope you enjoy it. Line Noise is brought to you by Cupra.

In addition to production, he holds down residencies with Cultivate in Osh Kosh and JAMS in my alma mater capitol Madison, WI! Go Badgers 😝 Home Team has been a strong player in the House scene in Wisco and even finds time to travel down here for the occasional Queen! gig or two. Hope you enjoy and we'll catch ya next year!

With his surprise fifth studio album ‘Magickal’ continuing to resonate across the global electronic landscape, Damian Lazarus now unveils the second half of the project’s ambitious remix series. Out 26th September via Crosstown Rebels, ‘Magickal Remixed (Part II)’ enlists the talents of Cinthie, Timo Maas, and Anthony Middleton, with each of the three celebrated artists bringing their unique perspective to the Crosstown head’s latest long-player. Arriving in both digital and vinyl formats, this three-track package builds on the energy of Part I, which featured takes from Harry Romero, Jonathan Kaspar, and Mëstiza, and THEMBA’s earlier remix of lead single Searchin’, continuing a journey that reimagines Magickal’s most defining moments through fresh, club-ready interpretations.
Opening the release, Berlin favourite Cinthie takes on ‘Y Don’t U’, injecting her signature analogue warmth and groove-driven touch into the album cut, reworking it into a silky, floor-focused workout that radiates her unmistakable house sound. Longstanding innovator Timo Maas steps up next with his remix of ‘Warrior Dance’, Lazarus’ amapiano-inspired collaboration with Ghanaian artist Jojo Abot. Stripping back and rebuilding the track into a hypnotic, low-slung affair, Maas balances subtle percussive detail with deep, pulsating basslines to create an intoxicating new dimension. Closing out the EP, Anthony Middleton, formerly one half of Audiofly, reshapes the soulful ‘So Low’ featuring Zoe Kypri into a textured and emotionally charged journey, weaving its vocal lines through expansive sound design and rolling grooves.
As Damian unveiled at the album’s initial shock drop, ‘Magickal’ was conceived as a complete body of work, capturing clarity, transformation, and a deepened sense of connection. With ‘Magickal Remixed’, that world is opened up further, with close friends and esteemed peers recasting its tracks in their own artistic languages, providing a multifaceted exploration of the original record’s spirit and purpose.
