How many different shades of red there are? How many different drones can one extract from a single melody? Or from a single note? How many colours can one remember from a single memory? How long can a feeling last? ‘Chains Of Silver, Chains Of Gold’ is based on a group of drones, constructed after a particular moment and its aftermath - the feeling and the memory of it, the instant and the remembrance of it. It is a deeply personal record, as abstract as it sounds.
The release manifests as two long form pieces and two accompanying remixes by Vanity Productions and Romance Relic.

Aires is a Portuguese musician working under different pseudonyms and one of the founders of Colectivo Casa Amarela. He has worked with labels as diverse as Enough, Genot Centre and Bad Panda. Additionally in 2021 he released the EP 'Daylight Fireworks, by Lisbon-based label ZABRA. Thematically, the artist works about the inevitable acceptance of ephemerality and the spectral quality of relationships in the digital age. It's also about distance and the modern illusions we use to hide it.

For each episode, a musician and a visual artist from the Global URL Nation collaborate to develop the story with audiovisual material - a 1h mix and a visual cover, which then serve as a base for written text. Each month, we will post here and on our website a new chapter meant to be heard, seen and read.
