Ticon - Hops of Hades (Original Mix)

"This in-between season, the one which does not exist but can at times be perceived. It could be the indian Summer or the beginning of Spring, something contrasted and filled with unusual lights." 

This fifth climatic season is the basis of the album conception. Tracks were created in times of pause and transit periods. Season 5 is a series of small tales made of samples and waves, charged with the energy of deep bass and tribal beats. A fluid downtempo wave building into morning trance. 

Essentially composed by Vincent Villuis (former member of Asura) with several artists' participation : Mahiane, Pascale Auffret and Sir John. These encounters enabled the birth of an ambient sound standing at the crossroad of several influences.

"mote. - Dust Particle (IDM/Downbeat/Chill) Darren Smith has been a composer, and performer of electronic music for the past 7 years. Under the project Reality Pixie, Darren has been a regular fixture on the Australian party circuit. In 2006 Reality Pixie was signed to Australian label, Gi'iwa Productions and in 2007 was signed to the Russian label Vertigo records. Having earned a reputation for creating emotional, melodic psychedelic trance, Darren has performed all over Australia: at festivals such as Rainbow Serpent, Tribeadelic, Earth Frequency, and Cairns Eclipse 2012. In 2008/9 Darren performed internationally with shows in Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Thailand: with the highlight being Khan Altay Solar Eclipse Festival.  "Hello Tree of Life people! This is our entry for the Tree of Life Festival Music Contest for 2013. We are Cavemen. Cavemen is a live electronic music project by Stef van der Poel and Daniel Maalman from The Netherlands. Cavemen tend to colour outside the lines (still getting used to those opposable thumbs) by combining different electronic styles into their psychedelic primordial soup. They describe their style as ‘Funghi’: funky psychedelic music. Psychedelic trance, tribal house, techno, electro, dub-ambient, breakbeat, all these influences could pass by when they perform live. The only rule is that it has to be groovy and that it should rock. Because if there is one thing that Cavemen are experts on, then it is rocks. Loungy and sunny sounds are crossbred with heavy basslines and deep kicks, combined with tribal rhythms that call out to the inner neanderthal. Ace Ventura - Spring ProgMix 2013

Recorded on the night at Tyne Psyde, 16th March 2013, using the trusty old CDJ-1000's and Pioneer mixer.

Beat matching is a bit ropey at the beginning and there's a quick volume drop as we were still setting up, so I must extend my apologies for that! I was on opening set, so I needed to build up to BDI's full-on psy set, who was on after myself, and I was kindly given two hours to do so.

Massive thanks to Tyne Psyde main-man Mick Trauma for recording this and putting on yet another cracking party. Cheers!
