The clumsy yet unswerving attempts of being an artist

Purpose
I write music to show the Father’s heart for mankind and the love of Jesus. Since finding God at 24 I can't stop singing about Jesus and His amazing love. I am on the narrow road writing music completely for God and not for the world. My deep longing is for people to feel the tangible love of God through my music. Jesus said he is the only way to the Father and my aim is for my music to lead you to the bridge that connects us to God, Jesus.

I have seen the power of music to heal and change hearts as well as felt the glory of God and that is my desire through my songs.

My roots
Growing up I was inspired by my dad leading worship at kids’ club at church when I was 3. Then at 8, I started singing melodies to myself acapella. At 14, I was hugely inspired by Jeff Buckley and Tori Amos. From 14 to 24 I was classically trained. After encountering God, at 24 it was like my ears changed and I all I wanted was to listen to music about Jesus. I loved listening to Kevin Prosch and Roy Fields and felt something I had never felt before through music. The tangible glory of God. I was hooked! For the last 2 years I've been influenced by English and Brazilian worship music, People like Davi Sacer, Antonio Cirilo, Kim Walker-Smith.

I want my songs to speak of WHO the person of Jesus is and WHO God is . People can’t worship a God they don’t know. So, my next album is to invite people to get to know Jesus and the love of the Father. So, that they might “hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and [He] would heal them.’ (Matthew 13:15) That they might “reach out for Him and find Him” (Acts 17:27) That is what my music is inviting people to. Eternal life. A place where they’ll be “no more death or mourning or crying or pain” (Revelation 21:4)

PATHS is a new female artist, Jules Shawe who launched in January 2017 and performs as a one-woman guitar, synth and light show. Her fresh indie electronic sound encompasses sampled vocals, guitar hooks, looped grooves and bouncy beats.

PATHS body of work has been recorded and produced by post-rock frontman Rory Friers under his new electronic alias, Thrash Hat. Her influences include Jamie XX, St Vincent, Feist, HAIM, Miike Snow and Foals.
