Field Records is to release a two-CD compilation of music from the label's artists old and new entitled simply, Collection.

The first of three samplers features Acronym, Ben Buitendijk and Voiski. Acronym's track '16 Cygni' is a sci-fi bit of techno that is speedy, slick and intergalactic, whilst Ben Buitendijk offers up some Millsian, streamlined techno urgency with his 'Colourblind' and finally Voiski gets all elastic and industrial tinged with his whip lashing effort.

A 3am session isn’t quite the same without the weirdly refreshing compositions of Howie Lee. He sent us ‘Everywhere I go’, a Jazz inspired mash of sounds carefully pieced together to create Howie’s signature sound. The Beijing based artist kept himself busy after the Borderless Shadows’ EP dropped, touring across Asia with Vice, starting a new EP & currently playing on a rooftop in Rio, Brazil. Whatever is next to come from Howie, we can promise he’ll never repeat one particular style when it comes to musical approach.

We’ve had MISOGI’s ‘Occult’ LP on repeat for the past few months. It’s a careful blend of the dark, distorted production that leaves you slightly hypnotised & wondering where the last 30 minutes went. 
And although his new single ‘Lantana’ is slightly less dark, the track still entrances with a flourish of melody, driven by a intricate drum patten & sturdy bass line. 
It definitely requires multiple listens to really admire the little delicacies throughout, as the Dubai based producer is set to build upon his impressive catalogue along side his upcoming collective HURT next year.

After Jonas Kopp’s well-received debut album ‘Beyond the Hypnosis’, released on Tresor Records in November 2014, the Argentinian returns to the label with a powerful and club-oriented EP, ‘HHH’. Over the past 10 years Kopp has explored and found himself confortable in many genres of music ranging from housey beats to hypnotic techno. This particular release finds itself comfortably in the middle of a dark and dusty dance floor.

‘Khaa’ opens the EP with a deep pumping bass as schizophrenic chords intermingle with hi-hats to form a stimulating composition full of energy. Conversely, ‘Nahn’ unfolds in parallel structure, cheeky yet with a smoother
bassline to ease delivery in a more more melodious way.

‘Hank’ unfurls with a thunderous stomping bass which cracks upon each beat sending you into a frenetic march while sinister atmospheres appear overhead. ‘Sinstro’ yields a whole new ambiance, with fraught chords pattering on the surface, while spatial airy moods climax throughout the piece to stimulate the mind.
Finally, the digital bonus track ‘Nekh’ brings the story full circle with a bold opening cut which builds into a cosmic trip. Altogether a feverish EP fit for peak-time elation.

Cissi Moon changed my life! It was in a now refurbished part of Stockholm in a futuristic cafe/club called Holger that i had my first encounter with loudly played club music. The night was called dB and we lined up with our fake IDs every Saturday to hear Cissi Moon spin Drum & Bass records and let the bass engulf our beings.

At the time the art of making electronic music was totally alien to me, I could not for the life of me work out how to ever make music that carried the same emotional and physical impact as I felt on that dance floor .
I have spent the last 17 years or so trying to get back to that state of being at one and completely lost with the music. 

This record concludes a trilogy of EPs by Peder Mannerfelt on his eponymously named label. What comes next is everything and beyond.

Tresor Records is fortunate enough to be sitting on a catalogue of past releases that no other label in electronic music would turn down. Three of the  finest in this collection were albums contributed by Surgeon; “Basictonalvocabulary”, “Balance” and “Force + Form” all originally came out on the Berlin institution between 1997 and 1999.

Surgeon’s inimitable combination of Detroit techno and post-industrial sounds emanating from his British homeland found its fullest expression in these masterful trio of releases on Tresor.

The Balance Remakes 12” accompanied Surgeon’s second Tresor album in 1998, with additional Versions as well as a remix by long-time Birmingham collaborator Mick Harris.

Tresor Records is proud to welcome Shao Yanpeng, the first Chinese artist to enter the label’s star-studded roster. Shao is based in Being, China, where he has been making electronic music since 2002, and pursues his career as a producer and successful sound designer.

With 'Doppler Shift Pt.1’ Shao continues to experiment with various facets of electronic music. On the A-side, 'Sensi' dives straight into feverish synth work which halts into a suspenseful ascension to the climax. On the flip, 'Reflection Pt.2' takes on a more serene atmosphere slowly building and adding textures as the track progresses into a meticulously built composition. The digital bonus track 'Reflection Pt.1' follows the same arrangement with a darker and more crude attitude.

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future. 

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit. 

Tresor Records was founded in the same year and began to serve as a platform for exporting the new sounds associated with Tresor all around the world. Emergent musicians from Michigan, such as Juan Atkins, Underground Resistance and Drexciya, were pivotal in shaping these early years. Their visits to Berlin would kick-start dialogue between the youth movement in Europe and these musicians. This story is one of friendship and community-building, inextricably linked with cities like Detroit, Birmingham or Edinburgh, where like-minded friends built something truly special, where revelatory rhythms soundtrack decaying industry in corrupted metropoles. 

Tresor Records has been the fertile soil for dozens upon dozens of creative minds, from the very luminaries of the scene who developed electronic music over the last three decades through to contemporary protagonists who are currently defining the sound of the future -  A more than 300 strong catalogue displays an unmistakable identity - the Tresor spirit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.
