Hello TS series, welcome to the dolly family!

We are kicking off this new exclusive range of releases, focussed on serious high quality techno in the widest sense, with Detroit dub technospecialist Luke Hess.

After successfully releasing on labels like FXHE, Planet-e, Echocord and his own label DeepLabs, Luke is back with "These Streets". 5 dynamic, pumpy and melodic, deep techno bombs with super solid remixes by Portuguese techno talents Vil and Shcuro as well as the Italian power duo Fireground.

Waajeed's 2022 long player, Memoirs of Hi-Tech Jazz, was an aural love letter to his hometown of Detroit; an amalgam of the city's history, coalescing the personal, political and, of course, musical past.

From the Motown soul assembly line to J Dilla's musically dense Hip-Hop to The Stooges' proto-Punk to the birth of Techno, the music of the Motor City has spread across the globe inspiring countless artists who in turn went on to create their own forms and genres.

Emulating this movement and transmutation, the Memoirs of Hi-Tech Jazz remixes 12" sees artists from three continents repurpose elements from across the LP, transforming them into productions stamped with their own trademark styles whilst retaining the spirit of each original:

the UK's Mark Broom loops sections of Right Now while speeding up the BPM for a classic UK-style techno remix; Ghana-born Yazzus takes on The Ballad of Robert O'Bryant adding a surprising number of twists and turns for a five-and-a-half-minute piece; Australians Jensen Interceptor and Assembler Code close the 12" out with their take on the album's title and opening track neatly closing the loop, bringing us full circle to the start of the LP.

The release of Memoirs&hellip;remixes add another facet to the immensely heartfelt tribute to Detroit from one of its most talented citizens and a true milestone in the Tresor catalogue.

We premiere new music from Delhi’s Sanil Sudan aka FILM who debuts on Hammer’s Remmah Records with a 5-track EP, including a remix from Dublin-native DART. We premiere the title track, ‘Miwonowi’, a tribal-soaked house groove that lends inspiration from Chicago and his hometown of India.

New Delhi-based Sanil Sudan aka FILM is the latest debutant on Hammer’s Remmah imprint. His ‘Miwonowi’ EP features three original tracks imbued with the restless & irresistible grooves of classic Boo Williams productions, overlaid with the same star-gazing cosmic energy that unites all Remmah releases.

Complimenting the four original tracks is a remix from DART, of the Remmah extended family’s Dublin branch, which zeroes in on the baseline and adds a whole extra layer of extra bounce to the ounce.

We premiere ‘Miwonowi’, a fusion of ancient and contemporary elements, combining the primal energy of tribal and indigenous with the power and grit of modern house and techno. Syncopated tribal grooves play off Detroit-licked chords and sweeping drones to devastating effect.

Four Four Premiere: FILM - Miwonowi [Remmah Records]

For the 12th release on Paraíso, co-founder Shcuro strips things back to assert what truly remains no matter much time may pass.

‘It Lasts Forever’ is the producer’s ode to structural things in his inner life that will keep flowing on unchanged, be it the love for his wife; his reverence to techno - hence the use of classic drum machines like Roland’s 909, 808 and 707; to friendship and community - having one of his dearest mates Steffi take part via the remixer chair.

Steffi picks up the opening track and adds propulsive percussion and further melodic elements to it, creating the perfect gem to close this record.

MASA Series is a Spanish vinyl and digital techno / electro label that has featured a variety of deep, IDM and acidic, analogue styles from the likes of Roger van Lunteren to up-and-coming talent.

MASA 006 delves into the wonderful sound of Leipzig resident HAL who has released on Inland aka Ed Davenport's Counterchange Recordings and Detroit Underground amongst others.

The EP also includes two additional collaborations with his long-time friend and studio partner Perm who is an established producer in his own right with appearances on Uncanny Valley, Sungate and KANN.

It's an elegant selection of tracks produced between 2018 and 2023, some of them recovered from long-lost hard drives and carefully remixed with the help of T I N's keen ears.

PREMIERE: HAL & Perm - Tenure Track I [MASA Series]

Next up on summerpup is the debut release and full-length album from Berlin-based artist xupid. Tripped out diverse techno-bass hybrids, cuts and grooves. 

xupid and I first met in Berlin in 2013 and have been exchanging tracks ever since, many of which have been my secret dj weapons over the years. I'm really happy to share these with you now, as xupid's first full release. 

The album is released on 2x12" Vinyl with a beautiful printed sleeve. The silver pieces depicting 'xupid' on the cover and inner labels are individual pieces of silver jewelry metalwork, each designed, handcrafted and photographed by NYC-based artist Sam Shin.

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future. 

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit. 

Tresor Records was founded in the same year and began to serve as a platform for exporting the new sounds associated with Tresor all around the world. Emergent musicians from Michigan, such as Juan Atkins, Underground Resistance and Drexciya, were pivotal in shaping these early years. Their visits to Berlin would kick-start dialogue between the youth movement in Europe and these musicians. This story is one of friendship and community-building, inextricably linked with cities like Detroit, Birmingham or Edinburgh, where like-minded friends built something truly special, where revelatory rhythms soundtrack decaying industry in corrupted metropoles. 

Tresor Records has been the fertile soil for dozens upon dozens of creative minds, from the very luminaries of the scene who developed electronic music over the last three decades through to contemporary protagonists who are currently defining the sound of the future -  A more than 300 strong catalogue displays an unmistakable identity - the Tresor spirit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.
