Founder and A&R of @lifeanddeath, Manfredi Romano grew up tour-managing punk bands and organizing left-field music events in Italy around the turn of the Millennium. Having completed his studies in computer science at the University of Pisa, Manfredi went on to form DAZE, Italy’s first booking agency solely devoted to electronic music. Drawing on two decades of experience behind the scenes, Romano shifted focus  in 2010, establishing himself as a DJ in his own right. 

As a performer, Tennis valiantly showcases an astute ability to create intimacy in even the vastest of gatherings. As a respected producer, Romano consistently channels his past relationships with post-rock luminaries such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricately-synthesised electronic constellations. Known for his Artist Management capabilities is responsible for breaking artists like Tale of Us, Mind Against and Carlita.

Fine chef and restaurant owner, Tennis splits his time between Paris and Miami, where he enjoys riding motorbikes, collecting vintage action-figures and building upon his vinyl record collection - which now numbers over eleven-thousand strong.

The common thread that links everyone involved in Life and Death is something beyond just their specific talents. 

Founded in 2010 as an Italian record label and event brand, Manfredi Romano’s Life and Death curates soulful dance music with a post-rock aesthetic.

All uploads are lossless/uncompressed wav files (16 bit 44.1 Khz) ripped directly from the original cd's.
All CD's are from my own personal collection, so some might have some audio artifacts from worn cd's etc. If you do encounter a file with glitches/audio interruptions - please let me know as I don't listen to all the tracks from start to finish.

Thaddeus X, a Dominican DJ and music producer, has spent over ten years deeply connected to the culture of the Dominican Republic, where he has honed his distinctive sound. His music combines elements from different times and genres, merging modern electronic rhythms with echoes of the past. Influenced by the European club scene of the early 2000s, his sets are charged with the raw energy of House and Techno, yet he reaches beyond to include touches of New Wave, EBM, and the soulful grooves of Leftfield disco. What sets him apart are the subtle hints of post-punk and psychedelia, which create unexpected moments on the dance floor.

Unconstrained by a single genre, Thaddeus X's records span house, techno, trance, and more. His true passion lies in experimentation. Through his side projects, Velvet Surf and The Selenite, he ventures into the fringes of mainstream club culture, investigating sounds that are often overlooked but remain compelling. His releases on labels such as Minds Alike, Mouse Music Black, Deeplomatic Recordings, and Aletheia Recordings reflect his ongoing journey—a quest for the next surprise, the next connection, and those unanticipated moments that make music come alive.

In his work, there is a relentless pursuit of something deeper a desire to bridge the familiar with the unknown, creating experiences that resonate beyond the usual confines of the club. Thaddeus X is not just producing tracks; he is crafting narratives without words, inviting listeners to join him on a path that is as much about feeling as it is about sound. His journey is one of exploration, both personal and artistic, drawing in those who are moved by the unique mix of influences he brings to his music.
