When we asked QuiQui to do another Cinematique Visions podcast he said yes. But as he did not made a mix for a while he got loads of tracks and inspiration to do a longer mix. So as a sort of celebration for his 5th release on Cinematique (‘Changes’) and as we just love it when someone is exciting to provide us with good music, we have agreed upon to unleash this special full version of QuiQui’s Cinematique Visions set. 3.5 hours of great music from now and then. Music Is The Answer (Quarantine Selection - 3.5 Hour Mix)

This is a live vinyl mix where most of the tracks are from the dawn of the "dark" progressive house era. My take on this was pitching things down to from around 132 BPM to 124 BPM (about -12% on the tables).  

The recording setup includes two Technics 1200 MK7s, an Allen and Heath DB4, two Pioneer RMX-1000s, and a recording mix of 10% mic and 90% line-in with the Zoom H6.

Born and raised in the heartland of Iowa, Pete Board's affinity for music began at a young age. Early interest in percussion and melodic instrumentation through classical training would lay the foundation for a world he would soon discover and come to love. Pete began composing classical music well before attending college where he would discover electronic music and never look back.
Electronic music isn't just a singular moment in time. It's a way of life, and Pete began his journey to share his vision and talent with the world around him. His overwhelming desire to share electronic music with friends and family launched his DJ career. Using his classical composition skills obtained earlier in life, it didn't take him long to start producing music.

In 2012 he formed a production company called "Mad Scientists productions" with DJ and producer, Colin Cook. It didn’t take long to attract notice. In 2014, he got booked to play a pre party under the umbrella of the well established "Movement" festival.

In 2014 Pete decided to move to Colorado. He didn’t know it at the time, but the friendships and connections he would form would propel his desire to share electronic music with anyone willing to listen. When you ask Pete about what he wants to accomplish when he performs, you'll find that his goals differ from that of other DJ's. He's attempting to tell a story, a cumulative effort instead of just playing a series of the hardest tracks one can find. His performances evoke a sense of curious wonderment, pulling you into the experience. It's designed to challenge your ears and keep your mind moving. Oftentimes after experiencing a mixing session with Pete, you leave feeling as if it's exactly what you needed.

This approach to performing and producing caught the ears of Denver locals and quickly made Pete a regular performer in the Denver techno community.

In 2016 and 2017, Pete made annual trips to Europe to perform. Throughout all his performances, he has been constantly producing music with featured tracks on multiple labels including Ekvilibrium, A Squared Muzik, and Subspec.
There is much that can be learned from a therapeutic mixing session with Pete Board, and he's eager to share.
