This week on Fika with Vicky’s, Confessions of a Wannabe Author, we’ll be expanding the idea of “Know Thyself,” to Know Thy Life, and Know Thy Book, while creating a confidence/book building list of steps. Perhaps, after listening, unlike Vicky, you’ll decide a list is unnecessary. And that is what to “Know Thyself,” is all about. Everyone is different.    

I’m pulling Authors Janice J. Richardson and Brian Greiner out of the comment section, to join us in person, and add their point of view. Different people, with different experiences, and different ways of seeing things, demonstrating that there is never one way. 

Why do you want to write? Do your writing intentions change the process?  

We’re also going to check in with what Vicky has done this week. How far has she gotten on her list, and has she tweaked it in any way? 

Is there a place for those projects that are unique. Does your cat write Haiku? Do you write stories about handcrafted staves and wands?

About Janice J. Richardson: 

From Welland, Ontario Canada, Janice J. Richardson has been an encouraging force to many fledgling authors, and is an endless source of helpful writing information. 

From the age of eight, Janice wanted to become a funeral director. Having achieved that, she used her experience in the field to write The Making of a Funeral Director and the Spencer Funeral Home Niagara Cozy Mystery Series which has been acquired for television development. Being a special needs mother and serving on several advisory committees for special needs, she was inspired to write Fading Expectations. She describes her new Women’s Fiction series which is in editing, SAM, as part of the Light and Fluffy subgenre. 

As an indie author, Janice has put a great deal of time into studying the marketing of books. She’s constantly researching the latest data, and has taken classes through Amazon on how to make your books stand out and sell.
