This song has been a long time coming.  

Story time.... Back in the late '90's I was in a band with Scott Vosicky, Ryan Burns and the late Lance Gonzales. We were known as "The Grim Harvest". One night I arrived at our rehearsal spot in the building which was once called "Metropolis". I strapped up my guitar, put it on the neck position pick up, and started strumming two basic clean chords.....LJ opened his mouth and words came out forming this song. A few months after, the band split and we all went our different ways. Eventually mine and LJ's paths crossed once again and we formed a little project called "Always In October" which was a more of an electronica meets rock type of thing but we always reminisced about the "old days". I pleaded with him to send me the lyrics to this song for years stating that I wanted to record it because it had great meaning and a lot of our friends kept asking me "Whatever happened to THAT song?". Finally, before he left this world, he e mailed me the words. Well, now it is years later and the tracks are laid and the song is about as done as I can make it without his voice. Its his words, my music. I recorded it, played all the instruments and sang all the vocal lines.
This song discusses "Daddy issues" which I'm fortunate not to have but many people do. But it also deals with abandonment on many levels. I think it relates to almost anyone I know in one way or another. Its taken me a long time to let this one out and I hope I did it justice. The artwork was done by Renee Catherine Wittmann. She drew it from a picture that was taken the last time I ever performed live with LJ, and coincidentally it was this song. I received it as a gift that my wife had asked her to do after my friend had passed. Like anyone, I have been through some dark times. This just feels like the right time to let this song be heard. I strongly urge the use of headphones for the full effect, laptop speakers just don't cut it.
For me, I'm glad to see this song finally get tracked in one way or another....even if it is all me. I love how two simple, yet dark chords along with a lyrical message can just make me feel a certain way. It speaks volumes of what music can really do for a person's heart, soul and mind. I hope our friends enjoy how it turned out. As always, it is FREE to download, like every other song I post from the Triangle Green Soundcloud page. So, put on the headphones, turn down the lights and turn up the volume. Here it is, simply titled
