I had the pleasure of being asked to return back to Evolution 2022 - Tree of Life festival after so long away due to the all the pandemic nonsense..

To be able to travel again is fantastic, to be able to travel and play on the road again is even more unbelievable. I think we were all starting to think we were going to be locked down for life! Especially us Australians who did it particularly tough with the extent and length of all the restrictions.

This was and will be one of my favourite sets of this tour and it was only my first gig on it. The fact I got to play for 4 hours on a massive rig at a festival in front of a super intelligent crowd made it all the more fun. 

Everyone knows I hate playing short sets and doing short mixes that's why I don't do choose to do many of either. I pick and choose my battles these days to make sure I get the gigs and sets where I can maximise my true abilities rather than slam out 10 x 1 hour mixes a year of meaningless rushed sets of each months hits. For me this proves nothing other than keeping social media relevant which is a nessasary evil but that's my personal opinion. Music is and should always be about a journey no matter what genre and unless I feel I can have to the right tools to be able deliver that for me it's a pointless exercise, especially when I can cross so many genres's in a gig.

Playing overseas again has reignited my faith in underground dance music. 

DISCLAIMER: This is a non apologetic trip down the rabbit hole this time. It's different and way more techno from my usual mixes which I hope you enjoy....

Now residing in Switzerland, SAMCHE is a producer and DJ determined to transport listeners on a euphoric journey embracing Organic, Afro and Melodic House. With a knack for sampling and melodicizing the lush world around us, he creates rich soundscapes and unforgettable melodies. Count among his repertoire Yukar EP which used field recordings from Asian cities in three afro and organic house tracks that topped the Beatport charts, or Mudun EP which played on urban and rural soundscapes to pay homage to the nostalgic beauty found in three Middle Eastern cities. His deep and soulful beginnings on the track Umi Yemen used real-life data on civilian casualties layered into rhythmic patterns, highlighting the cost of conflict. As a DJ, his prolific sunset mixes bring out the best in organic, progressive and electronica vibes, while his late night sets bring crowds to euphoria with tribal and afro deep beats. Ace Ventura - Tree of life

For a veteran chillout producer to successfully navigate the transition to sought-after producer / remixer and DJ within the Progressive House scene, is not an easy ask. But Nick Brennan a.k.a. Tripswitch has done just that – and with distinction. It was his Tripswitch ‘Vagabond’ album (Iboga Records, 2016) that cemented his highly rated status as a key dance producer beyond doubt. The album rose to the top of the Beatport charts, hitting #1 in Electronica and holding at #2 in Progressive House for 3 months.

Since then, a flawless resumé of releases on Bedrock, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Movement, Balkan Connection, Flow Vinyl, Pure Progressive and many more creatively exciting labels, has seen Tripswitch’s progressive stock grow exponentially.
