Formed in 2015, Year of the Cobra became a rapidly ascending, radiant star in the horizon of the doom/stoner-scene for a reason. This powerhouse duo, consisting of Amy Tung Barrysmith (vocals/ bass) and Jon Barrysmith (drums), use their limitation in instrumentation to their advantage. Leaving space for every instrument to breathe and to shine, they create a vast, larger than life sound aesthetic. Their songs drift relentlessly from classic epic doom laments into oppressive heavy riff architecture; from catchy, almost punk rock moments into transfiguring psychedelia. 
In 2016, just a year and one EP into their career, Year of the Cobra released their full-length debut, ...in the Shadows Below. Using the natural, three-dimensional and massively heavy production of Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep) they present themselves as an unbelievably mature and confident band who knows exactly what they want. Following their sophomore EP Burn Your Dead (2017), they had many successful tours of Europe and the US, playing a number of well-known festivals along the way, including Psycho Las Vegas, Freak Valley Festival, Prophecy Fest NY, and Stoned Meadow of Doom. They are currently working on new material for their 2019 follow-up full length with legendary engineer/producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Windhand, Soundgarden). The band will also hit the road hard in 2019 with appearances at Maryland Doom Fest, Sabertooth Fest, Northwest Terror Fest,  and Prophecy Fest Germany with more to be announced soon.

WALKING STONE GIANTS is a band formed in Thessaloniki, Greece on 2013 by Janis Aslanidis (guitars &vocals).

The band plays Heavy Rock while having a guitar oriented sound with hard bluesy vocals. The lyrical themes of the 

songs are mostly about the occult, war, revolution, as well as social matters.

WALKING STONE GIANTS played their first gig opening for Greek Stoner legends "NIGHTSTALKER" on December 

2013 at the EIGHTBALL CLUB.

From the time between 2013-2014 the band opened for STONED JESUS (UA) , WINDHAND (USA) , SIGIRIYA 

(UK),promotion shows in Greek cities and  a 3-gig tour in Dublin, Ireland.

The band's first release was the WALKING STONE GIANTS E.P. 2013 . On November 2014 the band got in the studio 

(Valve Studios Thessaloniki) to record theirfirst album. The band is currently working on the release of the album 

while booking album promotion concert dates till November 2015 ,where they are going to record their second 

album. The band is recording as a trio where Janis Aslanidis (28) Plays the Guitars and Sings, George Doulkas (25) 

is playing the Bass and does additional vocals and Nick Vafeidis (21) is the drummer.

On stage they have the help of a close friend, filling for rhythm guitar , Jim Tott (39) who worked/works as the  

guitar tech for Firewind, Gus G. band , Ozzy Osbourne and Marty Friedman.

The band's passion and dedication to energetic stage performances, created a core of fans based in Thessaloniki 

area extending to Athens and other cities.

I'm just a guy. I play all the instruments (mostly bass guitars) and do all the singing and screaming. I'm not very good. You should probably find something else to listen to. I'd recommend YOB, Jucifer, Ommadon, Mizmor, Electric Wizard, Sunn O))), Sleep, Windhand, Celtic Frost/Triptykon, Leviathan, Indian, or Bell Witch. They're really good. Also, Merle Haggard, George Jones, the Louvin Brothers, Doug and Rusty Kershaw, Elizabeth Cotten, and Woody Guthrie. And who the fuck is Bob Dylan?

A band known for their passionately fierce and ear crushing live shows, Sumeru’s onstage energy is exerted with an almost fanatical dedication that it verges on a cult-like rite of sonic exorcism and visceral upheaval. Add in the long-crafted musicianship of each member of this Sydney 5 piece, their ability to peel subconscious layers off of their audiences was apparent since their inception in 2009. 
Having shared the stage with foreign imports and domestic legends such YOB, Church of Misery, Torche, Nick Oliveri (back up band & support), Windhand, Nails, Blood Duster, Beastwars, IEXIST and Lo! Sumeru now stand firmly grounded in the Australian heavy music underground as a defining force of pure riff fury and indomitable low-end groove.
