- Following the example of the Companions in busying ourselves with studying the Dīn of Allāh and not being preoccupied with the affairs of the dunyā.
- The diligence of Abū Hurayrah (رضى الله عنه) in seeking knowledge.
- Benefits from the narration regarding Yaḥyā b. Ya’mar and Ḥumayd b. ‘Abdur-Raḥmān al-Ḥimyarī’s (رحمهم الله) meeting with ‘Abdullāh b. ‘Umar (رضى الله عنه) to ask him about those who denied al-Qadar.
- The tradition of taking the opportunity of Ḥajj or ‘Umrah to study at the feet of the scholars. 
- The virtue of age and experience in the Dīn of Allāh.
- The staunch stance of ‘Abdullāh b. ‘Umar (رضى الله عنه) regarding those who violated the correct creed, despite how much they learned. 
- A person memorising or possessing knowledge does not necessitate that knowledge should be taken from him, and an example from Imām Aḥmad (رحمه الله) in this regard. 
- The acceptance of the narration of the trustworthy.
- Abū Hurayrah’s (رضى الله عنه) encouragement of the people to take from the inheritance left by the Messenger ﷺ.
