I know we say this almost every week, but for our next edition of Trommel InSession we have something very special for you. The moniker Respond/React might be new but it is comprised of three artists that are certainly not new to the scene. Artists Man/Ipulate, Massaï, and Lamalice will no doubt conjure up lengthy Sentaku parties helmed by their founders and regulars that have helped the Parisian / London based label and event series to flourish. The ethos of the triple trouble combo offers fresh perspective in the relationship between crowd, the music and the emotion that comes with hearing a new track at home and the effect that it has on the audience at a gig. 

The three have illustrious solo adventures and so the prospect of all three artists working together behind the decks is mouth-watering. Luckily for you this ethos was cemented in the live recording of their set for the French brothers Mates in Bordeaux. At the Sentaku showcase Man/Ipulate, Massaï, and Lamalice deftly switch between banging house, grinding basslines and insistent breaks all with a special synergy between them that resulted in this vibe heavy recording.

Onrust is the musical alter ego of Jobbe, a rebellious experimentalist. It reflects the dynamic and evolving nature of his music, embodying discomfort and change. With over twenty years of experience in bands stretching metal, punk, noise, and synthpop, Jobbe draws his inspiration from the unstructured and the abstract. He believes that true artistic expression can only arise from the freedom to experiment and explore new paths, without the constraints of pre-established rules. The live performances of ‘Onrust’ embody Jobbe's desire to be in the moment, to create, and to find grounding in Onrust.

Traxx Jr. is a prominent figure in Leipzig's underground music scene, having built a solid reputation for his dedication to the house music genre. His involvement with the My Grooves crew has played a significant role in maintaining Leipzig's underground house sound, particularly through their iconic open-air events and off-location parties. These gatherings have become legendary, making a lasting impact on the city's nightlife culture.
