A mix of Ghettotech, house, Rap & Miami base, HiTech are a mission to destroy stereotypical “bottle service” club culture by bringing raw energy, humor, dancing and moshpits back to electronic music. In the process, they’ve become one of the most talked about live acts since their debut. Comprised of MCs/producers King Milo, Milf Melly and DJ 47Chops, HiTech released their albums HiTech & DETWAT on FXHE label, hitting The Fader’s Top 10 and Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of 2023 lists, racking up fans including Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, Pink Siifu, Show Me The Body & Crystalmess and playing much lauded shows everywhere including Berghain, The Lot, Rinse, The Face’s Rated and across PFW. Hilarious and raunchy, HiTech are also outspoken and principled. Premiere: Aero - Feast or Famine [SOMA687D]

Five days, five mixes. RA.999 launches with two of the 2020's most exciting techno producers tearing a portal to the future.

When it comes to purveyors of contemporary hardgroove, it's hard to top 1morning and Regal86. The duo have emerged from a buzzy, and decidedly funk-oriented techno scene on the American West Coast, repping Los Angeles and Monterrey respectively. Bound by a shared love of old-school flair and intuition behind the decks, you'll often find Regal86 ditching headphones altogether in favour of studying waveforms in real time, while 1morning's vinyl-only sets are steered by the movements of the dance floor and the fire in his heart.

So it comes as no surprise that we had to invite them back in session. In the last week before we celebrate the 1000th RA Podcast, we'll drop five back-to-backs over the course of the week. From the NYC Downlow to Berlin's Bar25, what unifies this cohort is a sense that they capture where dance music has been—and crucially, where it's going.

Kicking off the week, we have this exclusive recording from the duo's co-headline show at New York's Bossa Nova Civic Club—the "extra special" final stop of their recent US tour. As the first instalment of RA.999, this one-hour set makes a strong case for what it means to achieve ultimate freedom in the booth.

Regal86 and 1morning might be known for their raw, swung techno explorations, but here, their more sensual leanings carry the most impact. You'll find hardgroove's very own daddy Ben Sims, Paul Mac's 2002 melodic beauty Struggling Event and the lavish stomp of Percy X's As Is. And, of course, it wouldn't be a Regal86 and 1morning linkup without a healthy dose of Mexico City rising star—and the former's frequent sparring partner—1OO1O.

But really, this mix proves just how perceptive the two are. It opens a portal into the beating heart of groove-first techno, masterfully flowing between impulse and restraint, tradition and modernity. And who are we to resist?

RA.1000 launches with Theo Parrish, live at fabric: a vanishingly rare club mix from the king of deep crates and impossible transitions.

There are DJ sets and then there are Theo sets. No matter how many times you've caught him in action, every time still feels like the first. Running hot, levels smoking, isolator working over time. You think you know dance music? Think again.

Parrish's debut on the RA Podcast is a milestone for the series, one we've sought for over 15 years. So it was only right that Theo led off our 1000th celebrations. Recorded live at fabric last December as part of RA's party with the London club for their 25th anniversary, this three-hour segment documents the crescendo of his eight-hour marathon. 

The Detroit legend doesn't release mixes often, and when he does, they're usually studio recordings: think NTS shows, his 100% Detroit edition of DJ-Kicks or classic tapes Body (1997) and Methods of Movement (2000). A capture of the Sound Signature boss on the dancefloor is hard to come by.

Sure, there's galvanising build-ups and crowd-pleasers, but laced throughout a Parrish beatdown are rarities designed to shock the system. In a business dominated by marketing, the vinyl master towers above thanks to a relentless hunger for lustrous melodies, moods and textures of all stripes, which he and he alone can fold into an inspiring and exhilarating joyride.

On RA.1000, blissful reggae precedes new wave disco; '80s R&B morphs into synthy techno; bleepy Chicago jack makes way for a poignant vocal ballad. It's Theo through and through. Once again, he proves that anything and everything is possible with the right records.

Four Four Premiere: Tr One - The Murk [Hidden Love]

This week's entry to the Local Selection showcases Tipperary-born, now Belfast-based DJ, Laine to the series. This recording depicts Laine's cohesive and elegant mixing style, progressing eloquently throughout. Lock in for the next hour to hear this stunning mix, courtesy of the Reclaim The Mainframe resident.

Laine has burst onto the Dublin dance circuit in recent years, encompassing a distinct style that is geared towards house music and its adjacent sub-genres. In doing so, she has earned the opportunity to play for a host of parties like Melodic, Lumo Club and Hidden Love, as well as venues across Dublin such as Tengu, Pawn Shop and Izakaya. Not to mention picking up a residency for one of Ireland's most exciting parties, Reclaim The Mainframe.

These opportunities come as no surprise once you have gotten the chance to hear Laine play, as her library allows her to showcase a wide range of deep cuts right across the house spectrum. She has frequented DDR's airwaves on multiple occasions as part of Efa O Neill's Out of Space series, as well as showcasing a guest mix for prog-house aficionados Fuaim. Her expertise in the booth has seen her perform at Beyond The Pale as well as Fuinneamh, with another appearance at the Dundalk festival locked in this summer.

Laine's Local Selection focuses on an array of low-slung chuggers, rooted in deep, murky territory. Keeping things moody, slick and rolling for the duration of the recording, Laine does a fantastic job at flexing this side of her musical palette while introducing glimpses of euphoria throughout. Interestingly, this mix is ideal for casual listening, though it is something you could envision hearing in a smoke-filled, dimly lit basement somewhere, too.

Native of Kerry, resident of Galway & present in discerning homes across Ireland every weeknight, Cian Ó Cíobháin is something of an institution. His long running radio show An Taobh Tuathail on RTÉ’s R na G takes listeners on a dreamy trip from acoustic and experimental curio on Monday night, via electronica & disco midweek, terminating at Busáras on Friday night with "ceithre ar an urlár" house & techno. His broadcast is responsible in equal measures for educating the masses on simply great music & bringing some cool back to our native language.

Whether you bump into him on the landing outside P-bar or at one of the legendary 110th St parties he curates with his accomplice Cyril “Discoe” Briscoe in Galway, Cian will always take the time to talk tracks, troubadours & TRs.

In an effort to lift the spirits of the nation, Cian has put together a summery pop day trip to Bundoran for the MN mix series, so kick back, fire up the superser and pour yourself a pint of Lidl sangria.

How I Long To Feel That Summer In My Heart

Eddie Reynolds aka Tr One/Themisto Man is a DJ and producer based in Carlow, Ireland. A much-respected figure within Ireland’s fertile electronic music scene, Reynolds cites the likes of Dublin’s D1 Recordings, Kraftwerk and J Dilla as early influences. Equally inspired by vintage sounds from Chicago and Detroit. 

Fast-forward over close to 15 years and although the project may now consist of Reynolds only, his dedication to all things house, techno and electro remains unwavering. A prolific producer, Reynolds’ sounds have led him to some of his country’s most-renowned labels, including Lunar Disko, Apartment, Bodytonic, 393 and Pogo and his new imprint Intrinsic Rhythm. What’s more, his music has earned the respect of numerous high-profile names such as Moodymann, Laurent Garnier, Prosumer and many more and has been remixed by a stellar cast including Scott Ferguson, Sonja Moonear, Cignol, Dechord, Lerosa and John Heckle.


From a DJ perspective, Reynolds has played in all of Ireland and Dublin’s foremost nightspots including Twisted Pepper, Wigwam, Tengu, District 8 and beyond in Belfast, London, Manchester and Berlin.  A DJ with a truly eclectic vision, this is represented in the names he has played alongside. From Juan Atkins to DJ Stingray to Helena Hauff, Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Jeff Mills, DVS1,  Maurice Fulton and Steffi, Reynolds is a DJ capable of stepping up under any occasion. From a live perspective he blazed a trail in Ireland with a unique hardware based live show which was recently resurrected for 2022's Open Ear Festival and will be performing further dates in 2023.


Reynolds’ latest endeavours have brought him to release an acclaimed debut album on his new imprint Intrinsic Rhythm and prior to this releases on scene-shaping British label Don’t Be Afraid (where in 2019 he released one of his most-cherished releases to date, the magnificent ‘A Month Has Passed’ EP), as well as Lunar Disko, where he collaborated again, this time alongside compatriot R Kitt on the no-less-emphatic sounds of LDRX7 as well as the solo ChiCarlow EP. With recent releases on Mexican imprint Short Attention, Tokyo based Ashigakari and Dublin imprint First Cut these are exciting times for one of Ireland’s most consistent electronic music producers.


He also has released under new alias Themisto Man and is continuing to work and release music from his base in Carlow, Ireland and will soon ready his second vinyl release on Intrinsic Rhythm complete with a remix by Mihail P and has future plans for the label including work by John Heckle and more.
