@moma_ready arrived on a wave of acclaim that hasn't at all subsided in the four or so years since his debut. The NYC-based skateboarder and musician runs the Haus of Altr label and also makes ambient, as well as films. He has had particular success producing with AceMo as AceMoMA, such as on April's standout album, A Future. As the title suggests, it took in the dustier end of 90s jungle, rough-edged house and Detroit techno, but turned out something forward-looking. Whatever MoMA Ready does, it comes through a proudly Afrofuturist lens, always with unbridled energy and the ability to make you question everything you thought you knew. 

This week's mix packs an awful lot in. It - of course - eschews the traditional model of a slow build towards a peak-time workout. Instead, the music just goes where MoMA wants, whenever he wants. Even the transitions play second fiddle to the selections, which is fine when the tunes are this good. Some are deep, some are smooth, there are lo-fi bangers and seductive rollers. It's the sound of a DJ going all in without a care in the world.

Describing her Truancy Volume as a massive nod to the beginning days of her DJ career, the mix is a breaks-heavy affair with a solid helping of electro, tinged with sequences of melodic undertones. As expected she's filled the mix with plenty of new and forthcoming music, explaining: "There are a lot of new tracks in there that have either just been released or are about to be released, and I like the way this new music is sounding at the moment." As well as delivering a compelling 76 minutes, we caught up with Bri to talk about Paciphonic and how the idea formed back in 2014, her love for ambient music, her favourite gigs whilst at Radio 1 and her art travel purchases from globe-trotting the world.

Imogen is already seen to be shaping the next generation of Electronic music. Originally from Southampton, Imogen moved to London to study music production and then put her own parties on before she was 18 just to be able to play in the clubs. She first created a platform with her radio residency to showcase already legendary and rising talent, since then things have moved pretty fast for her already playing at Berghain and opening The Moat for Dimensions festival.

Now the winter is approaching Imogen has a string of releases in the pipeline; her first release is coming out this month on Sunil Sharpes label ‘Earwiggle’ along side Giant Swan, Delta Funktionen and Autumns. There is also another piece from her on Mumdance’s Shared Meanings VA out later this year.

"My return back to Berlin this year has been pretty hard, and when I feel down I find myself digging out brighter tracks. I guess it's a Libra balance thing. I made this mix to illuminate the more colorful spaces in my mind and to try and teleport to the euphoric atmospheres of a rave."
