True Concord Voices & Orchestra, founded by music director Eric Holtan in 2004 as Tucson Chamber Artists, draws on the first rank of choral and instrumental musicians from Arizona and the United States. True Concord’s artistic mission is to enrich lives through the transformational power of classical music. It accomplishes this primarily through the performance of masterworks and the diverse music of the United States, making its New York City debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall with Mozart's Requiem and Stephen Paulus’s Prayers and Remembrances in September 2015, and its international debut with Far in the Heavens: Choral Music of Stephen Paulus on the Reference Recordings label. 

True Concord’s expanding repertoire includes Bach’s St. John Passion and Mass in B-Minor, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C-Minor, Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, and Haydn’s The Creation. It has commissioned new works from Stephen Paulus, Gerald Near, Ola Gjeilo, Paul Crabtree, and others. 

On the adoption of their new name, Eric Holtan explains, “The original, early 14th century meaning of concord was ‘hearts together.’ Shakespeare later described the emotional impact of music as ‘true concord’ — something we strive to achieve in our music making between composer, performer and listener.” With their new album, True Concord seeks to bring together hearts from Tucson with those from around the world, through the power of music by one of America’s greatest and most beloved composers, Stephen Paulus.

Annemarie Picerno is a Grammy member, Americana Music Association member, Indie Collaborative artist and Josie Music Award winning artist  along with popular releases on Bongo Boy Records. She has performed in theater, bands in every musical genre, comedy shows, film, radio and television. About Jake:

Award-winning composer Jake Runestad (b. 1986) is noted for his versatility and wide range of expressive capabilities with music driven by soaring melodies, driving rhythms, and lush textures. Considered “highly imaginative…with big ideas” (Baltimore Sun) and “stirring and uplifting” (Miami Herald), Jake has received commissions and performances from leading ensembles such as Seraphic Fire, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, VocalEssence, the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble, Cantus (Minnesota), and the Rockford Symphony Orchestra.

Jake Runestad holds a Master’s degree in composition from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University where he studied with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts. He has also studied extensively with acclaimed composer Libby Larsen. Mr. Runestad currently lives in Minneapolis, MN and his music is published by Boosey & Hawkes and JR Music. Logan Severson Willson is a bass, composer, and conductor from Tucson, Arizona, who is passionate about discovering—through music—what unites us all by being uniquely human. He has been fortunate to share this passion on stage as a soloist, conductor, and ensemble member in collaborations with award-winning ensembles such as the Swingle Singers, The Real Group, and Chanticleer. Logan is also privileged to perform regularly with the Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers, High Altitude Vocal Jazz, and Shrine of the Ages, where he served as section leader.

As a composer, Logan publishes his work through his website and is always eager to take on new commissions and projects. His music has been honored with global performances by professional, school, church, and community ensembles.

Currently, Logan enjoys singing with the Voces8 US Scholars, serving as a choral intern at the Church of the Red Rocks, conducting the Kitt School of Music composition studio, and participating in the other musical opportunities that come his way.

Outside of music, you can find him racing bicycles.
