The sound of the Continuum reminds me very much of the works of Thomas Newman for the American Beauty Soundtrack.

Larry Cadge's Smiley Fingers is about to release the latest EP from Ray Okpara backed by up and coming talent Jad Taleb.

Berlin based prolific DJ producer Ray Okpara is dropping another record on London's Smiley Fingers. 
  
Ray's latest single 'Revenge' is a club-focused deep track, driven by a stomping bass line and a relentless 4/4 groove. Both dub version and  'Synth Mix' are pure dance floor tools. The single is backed by a remix from Jad Taleb, the Lebanese producer has crafted his own version of the original, a brighter and more melodic track permeated by early morning atmospheres. 'Revenge' is a dancefloor killer, ready for the 2021 we all hope for.

Smiley Fingers, the brain child of Larry Cadge, have released quality tunes from the likes of Betoko, Gunnar Stiller, Rick Sanders, Marko Nastic, Basti Grub, KlangKuenstler and more and is happy to share with the world another record from Ray Okpara.

Nickon Faith is a 23 year old up and coming producer from Manchester. Nickon has had music play a driving force for most of his life, and took to production at around 2015, building up a repertoire of lush melodic techno and progressive deep house productions as his signature genre. However, also touching on a variety of influences from the likes of breakbeat and industrial techno, his main influences being four tet and bonobo. Nickon Faith has been honing his craft over the years and has started sculpting a distinct sound for himself as a producer that marries atmosphere, ambience and energy in the form of lush progressive soundscapes, breakbeats and dense acid basslines. 
Currently he has had an eclecitc array of  releases on Salford City Records, Vision 3 Records, Rave Residence and future releases on limit (leeds) and an album on the way later this year!

The Continuum Fingerboard probably has got the world's best violin synthesis. This unique key-less soft surface lets you push your sounds to life slowly, or quickly, depending on how you interact with the surface. Here's an experiment where I'm playing the opening of Mozart's widely known K465 string quartet known as Dissonance, due to it's, at the time, challenging and out of the ordinary harmonics. I wanted to see if this type of music is possible to play on a synth. And with the Continuum Fingerboard, I think it is possible!

As you can hear I'm playing without any auto tuning aid, to get the most authentic fretless sound. It takes some concentration to play in the right pitch - but it's also opening up for deliberately playing low, high, tempered, clean, with a personal vibrato etc. The sound becomes an extension of your fingers.

Psycle’s expertly curated catalogue continues with a new addition from @Pow-Low that comes hot on the heels of his Inhale EP back in June.

Pow-Low is a core part of this label and keeps serving up the goods with each new offering. He hails from the Italian part of Switzerland but his musical endeavours have taken him all over the world. He’s formally studied jazz, been playing vinyl since his teenage years, studied recording engineering and production and worked in high end studios in Hollywood as well as being in a number of bands.

The charming title track opens up this release with lively house music that is enriched with warm, smeared chords, bubbly bass and an inviting, heartwarming vibe. ‘Studio’ is another deep but driving track with bass and synths that melt around each other as jazzy hi hats spin up top. The classy, good time grooves continue with ‘nowER,’ which has deft little bass riffs sticking out of a gooey groove and cosmic pads adding to the superbly stylish feel. Luzern jazz-school band, Colster feat. DAENS provide the next offering, deftly remixed by Pow-low, ‘Around The World (Pow-Low Remix)’ is a superbly soul-drenched track with lounge-y chords and effortlessly smooth rolling kicks and vocals. Offering something more minimal, freaky and late night is the excellent ‘Son of a Beat’ (2019 remaster) which is a busy track with rich layers of synth, keys, samples and percs all scurrying above a restless rhythm.

This is brilliantly colourful house music that exudes real soul and charm from start to finish.
