This is the splendid deep follow up EP by our favorite Liverpool artist Petals In Sound. After her great label debut last summer where she already showed us her wonderful atmospheric electronic sound, she now continues on a journey through that same spaced- out house territory. “Dial Tone” and “Lush” are both laid back groovers that sooth every dancefloor and are perfect late, or better, early hours tunes to steer dancers gently towards sunrise and out of smoke filled clubs, homewards with warm musical memories of a danced and spaced out night.

“The Sea and Everything in It” is a personal fave here as it combines great percussive rhythms with her unique style, arpeggios and dark synths electronica, deep like a warm spring day. The outdoor raves will be a perfect setting for this one! Last we asked our other new label member Pete Bandit from Berlin to remix “Lush”. With his own debut “Wild Feelings” he already set the tone showcasing his expert percussive and driving house sound. Here again he turned the original into a loopy “New York House” style jam with cool funky drums that fit in perfectly with the other tracks and make this whole EP a tight and delightful package. Producer, DJ, fervent music aficionado, and record collector Steve Mill has honed a distinctive sound that resonates across dancefloors. Born in Greece and dividing his time between Berlin, London, and Thessaloniki, Steve Mill weaves his rich cultural heritage into evocative melodies and infectious rhythms.

Whatever It Takes, released 2nd June on Tensnake’s label True Romance, has all the hallmarks of an instant club classic, with truly beautiful high-fidelity production values. The track kicks straight in with a driving bass drum and rhythmic bongos. Hi-hats join the party just in time for the wickedly catchy bass synth to drop. From then, the track builds with fresh layers of synth and vocal samples slathered generously on top, until, at 2:20, Tee Amara’s stunning vocal fully drops: ‘All I wanna do is love you / Even if that has to hurt. Whatever it takes to soothe you / I will be there for you.’ The Berlin-based vocalist’s beautifully soulful R&B style a perfect fit for Steve Mill’s trademark House groove.

Rewind Ltd has done it again with the album Saturday Vibes, a young talent who brings a fresh perspective to the world of electronic music. The album is a true testament to the multifaceted nature of distinctive Siberian electronic music, showing its transformation and history. It is obvious that pop culture has had a significant influence on electronic music, and vice versa, as the Saturday Vibes album seamlessly blends classic house and house from the 2000s.
