Extremely limited, only 300 copies of this 12 minute dub wig-out have been pressed and they've promised no represses and certainly no digital. Cosmic with a heavy lolloping bass plod (think Norway's burgeoning sound in the mid noughties) expect to be completely washed out by shimmering oceanic guitar strums that sound like a really slo-mo, heavily processed sample of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" (but probably aren't). 
As the groove spirals into hypnotic bliss, the 12 minutes pass with a blink of the eye. 
Deliciously deep; Even a 30 minute edit of this wouldn't be long enough.

Just what you want to hear if you see HARVEY at 3am: a 12-minute long, deep, dubby, trippy, hypnotic disco workout that fuses guitar licks with chunky drums. 
It’s one of those tracks you’re already loving before the vocal drops in, meaning when it does a dancefloor orgasm isn’t out of the question.

Tel Aviv’s @AUTARKIC lands on Turbo with an excellent new-wave inspired EP, backed by a killer remix from compatriots RED AXES.

Following a debut EP on Golf Channel in 2015, Autarkic aka Nadav Spiegel has risen in status alongside his close friends and collaborators Red Axes and Moscoman. His recent debut LP for Mosco’s red-hot Disco Halal has garnered critical acclaim, including a 4/5 review on Resident Advisor. Spiegel clearly has a rare talent as a songwriter, crafting the kind of intelligent, left-field pop music that one usually has to look back to the avant-garde of the 1980s to find. It’s an influence Autarkic not only wears well - he seems legitimately to be of another place and time. The sound is never pastiche, even as it recalls the character and mood of familiar classics, perhaps because it’s filtered, inevitably, through the fractured prism of middle eastern culture.

If things were more downtempo, experimental and psych rock on his first EPs, these tracks for Turbo point squarely at the dance-floor, and have been staples in the sets of not only Moscoman and Red Axes, but in the other rising stars of the underground Israeli scene around labels like Malka Tuti and Fortuna records, as well as the global groove empire developing around Turbo A&R Thomas Von Party’s Multi Culti.

It’s a stunning record, with substance, character, and style. The arrangements are especially strong, each song building in a way that feels exceedingly rare in dance music, in every case the second half elements come together in just the right way to surprise you, even make you fall in love. The somber vocals and unadorned production are just rough enough to make the unexpectedly beautiful twists and emotive flourishes call your attention and keep you hooked.

For those that still need convincing, there’s also a slamming Red Axes remix, as if those guys need any introduction. An unexpected and welcome return for Tiga’s venerable label.

Following a first vinyl appearance on You And Your Hippie Friends’ “A Very Nice Combinado Volume Dos” (YAYHF 03) earlier this year, Mexican producer PAULOR aka Paulo Rodriguez gets ready for his first solo outing with Hippie Dance’s sister label.

Curated by Rebolledo, the imprint has established an impressive talent pool within only three releases, including both veteran and upcoming talent such as Sebastien Bouchet, El Güero, Zombies In Miami, Beyou, Roman Flügel and more. It’s a testament to the label’s chiselled vision that an idiosyncratic and diverse group such as this is able to sustain individual approaches to electronic music while weaving a coherent sonic tapestry from all its ingredients, the whole quite organically being more than the sum of its parts.

Now, it’s up to PAULOR to flesh out his own sound cosmos on You And Your Hippie Dance’s latest 12” drop, presenting a concoction of salt-caked beats, riffing guitars and flexing bass that evokes a sense for space and untouched, psychedelic landscapes not unlike Rebolledo’s very own desert funk vignettes. After “La Race” (his contribution to “A Very Nice Combinado Volume Dos”) and the “Discótico Desértico” remix for Rebolledo’s “Mondo Re-Alterado” (HIPPIE DANCE 10 LP) started making the rounds in tastemaker DJ sets, PAULOR caught a major moment of inspiration while performing at Monterrey’s TOPAZdeluxe - which lead to the husky, hypnotic cut PAULOR’S BLUES, pièce de résistance and headstone in one, as it set the scene and also birthed enough follow-up tracks to naturally grow into a cohesive, full-blown EP.

From echo-drenched, beatless opener NEBLINA to the percussion-infused intrigue of DELIRIO EN CARRETERA, the athletic pop minimalism of AMIGOS or the slow burn of brooding mystery shuffle LUCES CALLING, PAULOR creates a unique, atmospheric sound panorama that excites minds and bodies alike. Adorned with a starry night sky, the record’s cover artwork couldn’t be more fitting – it’s a dominant musical vista in PAULOR’s work, whose vantage point is not necessarily a specific place (although all tracks were recorded in Xalapa), but a feeling of exquisite duality: the feeling of being lost between the stars, lonely and connected at the same time, a speck of dust and the center of the universe.

AEON label founder Alex Niggemann closes the year in style with the remarkable ​Electric Mariachi​. Unique remixes are delivered from cosmic disco inspired Rigopolar and Spanish talent Pional.
Electric Mariachi opens with vocoded robotic words, a heavy snare combines with electro zap before Alex introduces horn, adding a human element into an intergalactic journey bursting with energy and emotion. ​Pional is first up on remix duty with an acid interpretation, a loopy, hypnotic bassline wraps around the original melody and showcases his deeply compulsive electronics that can be found on the likes of Young Turks, Phonica Records and Permanent Vacation. Mexican-born, L.A. based, ​Rigopolar ​then turns his hand to two remixes. The stripped down remix is a colourful synth-wave piece where arpeggiating tones move like liquid over reverbed percussion. His second sees him up the ante, in a space influenced extended version that ebbs and flows throughout with his psychedelic glowing keys.
The word visionary is often overused in electronic music, but it’s the perfect description for Alex Niggemann. His ethos is to embrace the new and push the boundaries of the genre he loves so much. Since breaking through in 2006 with his remix of Booka Shade’s ​Darko,​ ​Alex Niggemann ​has continuously impressed with a slew of hits on seminal labels including Crosstown Rebels and Mule Musiq, as well as his own AEON imprint.

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
