Very excited to share this set, recorded live at the Colorfloor of Lofi during Coda on the final day of ADE 2024. The warm and smokey colorfloor set the tone. A mysterious and intimate atmosphere that I wanted to translate into this 3-hour journey.

I began with lighter, fast-paced rhythms, gradually adding layers of darker soundscapes and heavier kicks. As the set progressed, I switched to a more entrancing energy, building up to an atmosphere that felt both groovy and hypnotic. An ideal handover to Kia and Reptant, who followed after me.

Years of simmering mutual admiration between Turbo and Architectural have finally erupted with the Asturian producer's first release on the label - Good Night, Whatever That Is.

Nothing gets us hot and bothered like the prospect of featuring a true artist on Turbo. In fact, we are so f-ing jazzed to be working with techno genius Architectural that we even dropped scrappy “fun-house” producer Archie Textures from our roster to avoid confusion.

To celebrate the new record, Architectural has sent over the live recording from a magical evening in Barcelona last year. With a few trax from the EP intermingled with his bespoke dub techno selections, its a masterful flow from start to finish. Tune in.

This next guest is part of a new generation of talent coming from Japan and slowly taking over the world. Cutting her teeth on the dancefloors of Tokyo, imus is a significant and perennial player on her local scene. She’s played at Keep Hush, contributed mixes to NTS Radio and delivered her mentally challenging techno to audiences at DJ Nobu’s Future Terror parties. At the end of 2023, she also launched eulb, an event series sitting at the ‘intersection of machine, band and dance that focuses on the aesthetic aspects of electronic and spiritual sounds’. Inspired by techno, bass and all things experimental, her work pulls heavily from her context at the centre of the Japanese sound, but pushes it further and develops something unique to her own experience. Her sets are large format trips into the strange realms of her mind-altering frequencies, sonorous and full-bodied ripples and beats that explore the fringes of dance music in all of its forms. Bassiani Podcast 264 channels imus’ deep-toned techno in an hour long instalment that rattles and pulsates with riveting atmospheres and firebrand rhythms. Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
