El Guincho side project gets the remix treatment from edit-champ Pilooski, Visionquest / Soft Touch mega-talent Clarian and Turbo / Multi Culti A&R Von Party.

Spanish musician Pablo Diaz-Reixa, best known for his psychedelic, tropical pop act El Guincho (released on Young Turks), posted 5 sample-based tribal tracks back in 2013 on the site tranc.es. The music drew the attention of John Talabot, who released two of them, titled simply '4' and '5,' onto his Hivern Discs label, as a vinyl-only release, which found it's way to Thomas Von Party and inspired this remix pack.

Pilooski hasn't released much music of late, but what he has put out has been of exceptional quality, with remixes for I:Cube and Tim Paris being highlights of 2014. His remix of Trances 4 is a sprawling modular head-trip, far out in every way, yet somehow listenable and versatile as a DJ tool. 

The increasingly prolific Clarian (formerly of Footprintz), flexes a progressive acid house builder out of Trances 5, proving his skill in yet another facet, after an incredibly wide range of releases ranging from indie rock on Seth Troxler's Soft Touch to indian chant-pop on his Multi Culti EP. It's a sonic departure from the original, but one that stays true to the verb in question.

Finally, Von Party brings the tempo down on to a smooth 116 BPM, restraining some of the abrasive elements to make for a low-slung crowd-pleaser that works equally as warm-up or late-night takedown - already played and supported by Tiga.

Also included in the package are the amazing originals, available for the first time digitally, and as a digital exclusive, a previously unheard alternate version of Trances 4.

Classic breaks snap in the back while a gently acidic lead flexes in and out of focus and the resultant groove sends out a clear and cosy invitation to get loose.

A regular on Johannes Albert's Frank Music's label and Tensnake's True Romance, Claus Casper chips in with his 'No Tengo Dinero' remix - a fortified revision that packs an extra punch with a layered snare, cow bells and an open hat that seasons the groove with a little bite and snap.

Rolling snare fills punctuate the track as Claus creates ramps for sections that showcase his indisputable chops on the keys. The passion and heat of the orignal remains intact as progress tumbles towards a long, spine-tingling breakdown that pops wide open in a manner that will send the floor absolutely nuts.

People of the Light mark their second all-female-produced release with SuperJaimie’s "You in My Dreams", a snappy vocal cut that trades in atmosphere over spectacle. The original moves on clean percussion and hushed chords, letting a soft-focus vocal carry the emotion without crowding the mix.

Jay Hill keeps the intimacy intact while nudging the drums forward for more club certainty whilst keeping the vibe strong. Meanwhile Subjacent takes a different route, streamlining into deep, driving Techno drums with a tougher low end and fewer adornments, then pares it back further on the Dub by removing the vocal for tool-room utility. An Instrumental rounds out the release for DJs who prefer the mood without the vocal.

It’s a versatile package that works from warm-up to late hours, quietly confident and continuing People of The Lights track record of bringing together some incredible artists at the top of their game.

JKriv returns to Rocksteady Disco after a six-year break with his stunning ‘Adaptation EP’. 

This super solid five tracker continues J's hot streak on seemingly every great label around the world including his own Razor-N-Tape, with a deep organic sound, thanks to it being mostly produced in his MPC3000 era. 'Greene Street Lament' kicks it off on a boom bap beat tip. Next 'Adaptation' gets the party started with lush strings, piano, and a huge bassline. Originally "Back in the Days" released in 2004 on Resopal Schallware marked Tigerskin as a torchbearer for pop-oriented groovy House, reviving the raw energy of early 90s bleeps, swung beats, and untamed dance floor spirit but transforming it with the technical possibilities of the early 00s into his trademark romantic vision.

From the pulse of “Dance Now” to the cringey charm of “Party in My Car,” Tigerskin proved that Back in the Days was more than a look backward - it was a bridge between era's: a reminder that the roots of club culture still grow, still breathe, still move people.

Two decades on, this re‑release doesn’t just bring back nostalgia - it reminds us that reminiscing every once in a while can push creativity. The album and a few EPs around it were the start of a pretty different approaches to club music for Tigerskin, that led to several big tracks and remixes, some now considered to be classics by many. 

The three formerly unreleased and slightly more club-oriented bonus tracks had been recorded the same year but were amongst many that didn’t make it to the album.

For our third release, we proudly present Stand Your Ground — a refined EP by Colombian producer Bralan Arias, who delivers four deep yet dynamic original tracks that carry emotional depth while remaining fully suitable for the dancefloor. Emerging as one of the most talked-about names in Colombia’s house music scene, Arias draws inspiration from jazz and collaborates closely with Bogotá-based musicians, infusing his productions with organic textures and harmonic richness. Berlin-Hamburg duo Session Victim bring their celebrated Sidequests trilogy to a close with Chapter Three on Delusions Of Grandeur, wrapping up the series in signature style. Full of warmth, groove and left-of-centre touches that remind us why their music has remained so enduring over nearly two decades. Once again blurring the lines between live instrumentation, crate-digging textures and deep house aesthetics, the record feels like both a culmination and a new beginning.
On the A-side, ‘Too Soft To Be Loud (Ian Pooley Remix)’ finds German house pioneer Ian Pooley reworking the original into a sleek, floor-focused roller. Shuffling drums, glowing synth pads, and that distinctive Pooley touch elevate the track into prime late-night territory, striking a balance between hypnotic subtlety and groove-driven energy. ‘Know Less with Viken Arman’ showcases the magic of Session Victim’s continued collaboration with the French producer. Closing out the trilogy in style ‘Rain Or Shine’  introduces a new collaboration with San Francisco beatsmith Eo (Moniker/ Circus Company), weaving together intricate downtempo rhythms and jazzy vocal chops. Balancing lightness and depth, the track grooves along effortlessly giving off a sun-soaked energy - an uplifting finale to the Sidequests journey.
With Chapter Three, Session Victim deliver yet another set of genre-defying pieces that honour their deep musical roots while pointing toward fresh possibilities. Their chemistry with long-time collaborators, coupled with the ever-trusted Delusions Of Grandeur platform, ensures the Sidequests trilogy will stand as a modern classic in their discography.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. “We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
