Austrian imprint @LuvShackRecords starts a new chapter in 2018 by welcoming Irish House and Techno afficionado and Misfit resident Andrew Johnston AKA @Moodtrax with his own-brand of super warm, brooding sounds to their stable. Featuring 3 originals and a remix by Berliner duo Longhair.

'Running Number' starts as a no-nonsense house track, carried by a beefy unisono bassline and a 16th note heavy drum pattern, yet it trancsends into 80s territory with the help of a deeply emotional chord progression that might just make you forget you're in a club. Longhair dig deep into that chord progression and build a melody and synth-bell infused italo-house track around it that should make this years festival crowd weep and rejoice alike.

Suuuuuuuuuuper proud and happy to present you my next 12" via Lumberjacks in Hell that's out today!!! As maybe Mendel and Adrien will be able to testify I have been struggling with BROWN CURLS (performed by Khalil Anthony) for a couple of years, as I always had something that egged me about it. I dont see myself as a perfectionist but there is a certain line that mustn't be crossed . So it might come as no surprise that my favourite (released) version is actually not by myself but the restless genius Patchworks who transformed it into a perfect boogie bomb!!! Try it, it will work 100% !!!
But that's not even the title track! The EP is called IF YOU LIKE , hey? The track has been around just as long as the beginning of Brown Curls really and started as a remix, that morphed and morphed and morphed into what it is now, my take on a Afro-Boogie track. Thanks to everyone involved foremost Jan van Mastrigt on Bass, Derek van Beelen on Drums, Jair Wix on Guitar and Tim Jules on Keys.

Back at the start of lockdown, label boss Man Power set the challenge to remix a track he created that day in 2 hours.

The idea behind the challenge being to set yourself limitations as a producer - be that time, or only using certain software/equipment - and to finish the arrangement completely.

The amount of stellar remixes we received was astounding and hence we've arrived at this point, a compilation of all those amazing remixes being released on the label with all profits going to NHS Charities Together.

The third release in our special digital summer series is the debut of an exciting artist from The Netherlands. “A Bunch of Guys” is the new alias of Utrecht based dj/producer Rob Scholtens, formerly known from “Pablo Discobar Soundsystem”. After 5 years as one half of the Dutch DJ duo, playing a lot of shows all across NL, he’s now working on his solo career with renewed energy.

The opener “Filthy Rhodes” is a pumping house track that will surely make you move! With it’s old school piano house chords and melody this one is made for pure good times. Followed by “Let the Rhythm Hit’em” where It’s all about, you guessed it, the rhythm. The combination of smooth jazzy drums, piano and the double bass, played live by Rob, will surely move your feet and keep you dancin’. Last of the originals is “Launch VII” a deep journey with Detroit flavors build around a rocket launch sample and gently driving you deeper into electronic atmospheres and towards a funky keys solo.

As the perfect topping to this great well crafted debut EP we asked our good friends and all time fave Dutch producers “Fouk” to produce a big remix of “Let the Rhythm Hit’em”. They boost the original to a raw and rolling Chicago-esque House banger. With their solid and chunky production this one is a big encore to close the EP.

After a hiatus which saw lots of writing, producing, performing + the arrival of a new child we're mega excited to announce a brand new E.P. from the electronic synth driven wizkids that are the Night Giants! 3 brand new productions that have been road tested at live gigs (remember those?) before lockdown and fine tweaked in the studio to be presented in all their laser reaching glory..

The title track thunders out the gate at warp speed and ticks all the house-techno-(dare we say it) trance elements...simple in its approach before smacking you around the head with a mitsubishi shaped shot of adrenaline.

Tremble makes you do just that, with a broken beat alongside soaring pads & chords along with dream state like vocals and plenty of synth arps & stabs make this an absolute peak time piece of greatness. When we can hug each other again we guarantee this will be the top of your set list/playlists.

Twist & Drop hops back on the 'heads down in a smokey basement' gravy train and thunders the party to a close with almost old school style bass rumbles and a break down to raise hands too...big indeed!

Remixes come in from all genres with Eskimoh giving Selector a soulful D&B makeover whilst p-funk-disco-boogie outfit Paper Street Soul take Twist & Drop to the neon skyline of Miami in the 1980's on their disco/not disco remix.
