French-born and based in Nairobi, Pyjama
brings an eclectic style influenced by the sounds
of the '80s/90s and the infectious rhythms of
Latin, funk, and disco music.
Active in the nightlife scene, Pyjama spent six
years in South Africa, where he founded Anwo
Kay, a duo that brought afro-funk and disco-
house to local bars and festivals. In Kenya, he
launched The Vinyl Cartel, a collective dedicated
to 100% vinyl performances, covering chill pop,
funk, soul, disco, and house music.
Pyjama’s rare vinyl collection and ability to
curate diverse musical journeys, ranging from
disco and funk to house music and techno, have
made him a regular at Kenya’s major clubs and
festivals, including Beneath the Baobabs and
Kaleidoscope.
