Was an absolute blast playing alongside Ken Ishii, Misstress Barbara, Steve Redhead, Zzino, Agent Orange, Axel Karakasis, Huma-Noyd et al at Technopia, Belgium on May 31st. I'm glad to be playing a harder, faster style nowadays and this set showcases a bunch of forthcoming releases which I'm looking forward to.

Someone that honestly needs no introduction, please welcome the one and only UVB to the Renegade Sessions. 

The French born artist has been a prominent figure in the techno scene since his debut in 2014 on the dutch imprint Mord and is responsible for some of the most memorable techno tracks of the past decade. 

“Ive known Seb since our beginnings in the music scene. We started releasing music almost at the same time through our beloved Mord. Played shows together and enjoyed some nice drinking nights also. 
So it’s more than special for me to have him as a guest in our series. A privilege to say the least. He is one of the few artists that I greatly respect cause he is always staying true to his vision and sound no matter what and also I believe that he is one of the greatest and most original DJ’s out there. Will let you listen for yourselves but if you’ve ever caught him in one of his gigs, you know this one is a must listen.”

Luxembourg’s Ogazón (of Nathalie Ogazón Faber) followed her studies to the Netherlands and fell deep down the rabbit hole of Amsterdam nightlife, Trouw she recounts as transformative. Enough so that she followed that thread starting in the mid 2010s as neophyte DJ before upping sticks for Berlin a few years later. There, her passion for digging and upbeat outlook landed her in Ryan Elliot’s sights, a partnership that’s taken B2B form on more than a few occasions and led to further work with fellow blue chipper Marcel Dettmann (she signed to his agency in 2023). These days Ogazón’s sound is spreading to the pace of its rapid tempo, and her schedule’s all the more punishing for it. Dekmantel, Awakenings, DGTL, Berghain, Robert Johnson, the list gets longer. Refusing trivial categorisations, her work pivots between groovy house and austere techno, bringing together various influences (the ambient inclinations of Sofia Coppola she also cites) and keeping her vision broad. For Bassiani Podcast 241 she errs on the side of techno, delivering a profound two-hour mix that marches unrepentantly forward, zipping from ascetic track to track and building an atmosphere thick with subtle detail. This is deep, utilitarian techno for unsettled times and Ogazón leads the way.

OCCA hails from the snowy city of Sapporo, located in the northernmost region of Hokkaido, Japan. In addition to inviting renowned DJs like Peter Van Hoesen, DJ Nobu, Haruka, DJ Yazi, and IORI to perform at his Archiv parties at the legendary Sapporo club, Precious Hall, OCCA has established himself as a respected DJ in his own right.

OCCA has played at several notable events, including Future Terror and Gong, which were organized by DJ Nobu, as well as Exit the Labyrinth, Balance by Mindgames, and Dommune×Boiler Room. His performances aim to take the audience on a sonic journey, where he expertly blends existing techno tracks to craft new sounds and create futuristic techno-style elements.

A gifted, sure-handed groove manipulator, Alienata has been carving out a niche for herself as one of the scene’s most reliable DJs in both actual floor impact and mixing skillset. Also curating the ever consistent Discos Atónicos, which she founded in 2017, she keeps on delivering sets that combine a wide array of styles, from dark disco to acid, through D-town electro, industrial and IDM outbursts with equal poise and gusto, time and again. Expert in chiselled transitions and pristine track selections, the Spanish born DJ builds her mixes like one creates mosaics, building a cohesive whole out of disparate rhythmic elements and tempi, while she snaps ankles and flips brains by the dozen along the way. Yet another faultless mix from a DJ whose palette and perspective here surface in all their abrasive, unadulterated glory. Jet propulsion activated.
