Mayss did not have much to say and I’m still redacting my graduation ceremony speech that took place two weeks ago thus I’ll keep it short. Mayss has a big heart and I like crossing her in the streets cuz she radiates hope despite we both living in a city where dreams come to die lol. So if in 2022 Mayss still finds love and inspiration in the art then i'll act accordingly and continue to find  love and inspiration in the arts. Other than that it is a pretty dope mix; listened  to it on repeat while re-potting the tomatoes in the garden; I do hope  they felt the cosmic frequencies of the mix while I handled them and they’ll thrive and become stallion tomatoes cuz I already invited her over to taste the harvest in 8-to-10 weeks. Today it’s also summer solstice and indigenous day so tune-in to the mix an honour ur place in the universe I’d say.

https://soundcloud.com/placa_fer is a tool to experiment and to connect. Its main intention is to generate a sonic diary, gradually adding layers of information, memories and emotions. 
With an attraction towards storytelling, imperfection and out of control  scenarios, placa's compositions aim to take the listener to concrete places and ephemeral situations with field recordings as its cornerstone. Archiving moments, as if clips were filmed and stored for future reference. 

 "kyo-ka" for Mnemosyne is the sound map of a trip to Japan in late 2019. 

"What was a crucial sound experience in your life?"
When I first listened to my first field recordings with studio headphones I was shocked by the power they had to take me to specific moments and places in life instantly. Even if some years have passed by, they still hold that super power. It is also fascinating how, every time I listen to them, I hear new details and new strong connections are built. The micro macro perception when listening to field recordings has really influenced the way I listen to my everyday context.

MNEMOSYNE #042 - PLACA

Not sure what I can really say here about 2 pillars of techno and electro. These 2 artists shaped the world of electronic music as it is today and had such a dramatic impact on my life that I really couldn't begin to describe it. I will be trekking across the musical horizons of Drexciya and their individual counterparts, Gerald Donald and James Stinson, in a way that is by no means comprehensive but I will try to encapsulate as much as possible from the worlds they created.

Švč:: Sometimes, mixes and dj sets are the best when they're crippling. Fast, slow, or barely moving at all, they'll draw you in and – whelp – it's already too late, might as well take it as it comes. I might have been more aware of this back when I knew so little as to think there's nothing more to know. A nice thought, even if it's nonsense! So I thought it would be fun to try "getting back" to that illusory mental space, countless hours of digging later and, hopefully, with at least a bit more skill. The resulting recording is a mixture of qualities that work for me on a visceral level – distortion, noise, dirt, sonic emotional manipulation, a few camp horror scenes, some wistfulness, and a pinch of euphoria. I recorded it "live", it took ages, it could have taken millennia, and it sounds just about right.

The Sun and the Moon is a research on music, dance, pleasure and grief.
 
A sonic tale developed during the twisted Summer of 21, dedicated to Mariana. 
 
This piece blends recordings from a Rogue Moog modular synth and some smaller hacky Error synths, Tingsha and south Chinese bells, spoken word, and field recordings. A mashup of elements recorded during rehearsals and dances, singing and wailing, protesting and mourning.
 
The score is a clamour of admiration, experimenting with techniques used by artists such as Eliane Radigue, Steve Reich, Catherine Christer Hennix, Microfilm, Lawrence English or Delia Derbyshire, whose listening, looping and distortion techniques have created incredible scores, often times using sound-objects, concretism or pioneering electronic instruments. Listening harmonies meshed in the chaos of sound, finding patterns in the randomness and orchestrating beautiful noise. In music I tend to find comfort in idle noise as a cushion for the thoughts - it fills the space which would be occupied by undesired noise or voices while it massages the organs. Intertwined with acousmatic sounds - a needle-drop, a synth or a plane, crickets and faulty instruments, listening to a film in the backdrop while falling asleep on the lap of a friend. The rhythmic beats and claps in club music set a dance pace but the arrhythmic frenzy of sounds and noise are the spices of music, modulating sounds, creating density and narratives which make us high - on the dance floor, in a bath or listening to our headphones. These are the sounds I am constantly searching for and that I yearn to include in my sets to generate weight or lightness.

marum is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, writer and DJ based in Berlin whose practice and research focuses on queer rave culture and its implication on social and urban politics, collective care practices and harm reduction, digital privacy, feminist hacktivism and technoliteracy. marum is a founding member of XenoEntities Network, a collective doing artistic and curatorial research on queer, gender and feminist studies and their interactions with digital technologies. In Lisbon, marum is co-founder and resident of the queer rave collective mina, and co-curates suspension, a music label and series of events exploring fringe communities and sounds. Marum was the initiator of the cultural association Rabbit Hole, an artistic platform working with performance and visual artists since 2011. Marum has presented their work, curated programs and participated in talks internationally under the invitation of museums, film festivals, galleries and universities. As a DJ, marum blends fast paced hard rave, techno and trance influences with deep, ambient and alien soundscapes. marum has studied in Lisbon in the field of healthcare and women’s sexual health, and later studied media art in a co-joint master’s program across universities in Austria, Denmark and Poland.

Like windows that open to horizons both near and far, her sets run through the landscape with the same intensity that she lives other creative facets of her life. More than just a possible classification of styles - that range from bass house to cosmic trance, abstract grime, schizophrenic tribalism, acid techno and various experiments - Tutu on the decks can go from underground dance to the most experimental sounds, which direct the feet and brain to maintain the brain occupied and sensations that run skin deep.
