Ghost in the Rearview

Matěj Balcar is an artist from Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, making waves in the underground techno scene. As a producer and live performer, he launched his solo project "Tuulacult" on April 27, 2023. 

Specializing in raw, deep, and hypnotic techno, he crafts a diverse sonic palette that ranges from introspective to driving. His recent EP "Fears We Steer" explored the more gentle and contemplative side of his production, while new singles like "The Sacrifice" showcase his signature rich, driving underground sound.

Starting with live synth performances, Matěj has since transitioned to DJ sets, seamlessly blending his own productions with tracks that inspire him—while preserving the raw energy of his live shows. In addition to his personal work, he actively contributes to the local techno scene by organizing events that foster and support the community.
