A month after joining proceedings at our launch party for Sub Club's Nautilus Rising label, Lord of the Isles marks his return on Permanent Vacation with his Clearness of Love EP – a heedless release of four tracks that are easy picks for peaktime on the dancefloor. Club-orientated techno that still remains gentle, heavily steeped in nostalgia: from acid to ambient; and big beat to Balearic. Though perhaps not a blatant choice, the EP's closer "All I Need" is an undeniable highlight – slow-burning, earthly techno with a melody flowing through the bassline that grounds and comforts you all at once. The almost folkloric snippets of the wood flute keeps it reminiscent of Bavarian soundscapes in Recondite's Iffy.

Clearness of Love EP drops on 23rd October via Permanent Vacation.

After a run of faultless remixes this year, the Frankfurt-born and Berlin-based producer, Oskar Offermann benchmarks 2015 suitably with the arrival of Le Grand To Do ﻿on Japan's finest Mule Musiq, his second full-length LP since 2012's Do Pilots Still Dream of Flying?

Our highlight is track eight, "Stormy Past". Reflecting on breaks and with hints of dub techno, it sheds light on Offermann's hip hop-heavy adolescence. For Oskar, "music the direct access to the soul" – a statement granting us permission into the windows of Oskar's own mind, through Le Grand To Do's ten comprehensive parts. It's good to see the master back on track.

Le Grand To Do drops on 13th November.

Oskar Offermann "Stormy Past" - Boiler Room Debuts

Warming us up nicely for the Boiler Room x Closed Sessions showcase this Friday is this exclusive Debut from Closed Sessions affiliate, BoatHouse. Smoothness comes naturally to this twenty-something Chicagoan producer of downbeat hip hop, a trait shown in abundance with his latest GIRL EP, forthcoming on Closed Sessions.

Dropping in full in a couple of weeks' time, the EP is a homage to women in the form of music. Today's Debut and our pick of the bunch, "Taylor (Lady In Red)" is a joint to ease us perfectly into the mood for Friday night's broadcast live from New York City. Don't sleep.

First up and out on Mr Beatnick's new Mythstery imprint is the Instant Bull LP from Genevan producer and Beatnick's longtime friend and collaborator, Breakplus.

Partly a beat tape, partly a mini-album, Instant Bull is a hip hop celebration of Turkish rock. Breakplus' musical journey began during the golden era of hip hop, and upheld this musical rhetoric in his own records, shown through his deft sampling skills. Anatolian sounds are one of the "world music" samples popping up more and more in dance music, with our highlight track "An Atol Alien" ringing bells of day parties and festival sets gone by. A little glimpse of Turkish sunshine.

Instant Bull drops on 9th November via Mythstery.

A laid back yet uplifting piece with an airy feel, detailed percussion and firm beat. I may do a few more tweaks and/or other edits before pushing to final release.

A taste of one of the never before released tracks on the next album "Lost and Found". The album mainly holds remastered versions of the old classics from the golden MP3.com days, but also a few "new" ones that where never on any official release (i.e. CD).

"Lost and Found" is a release aimed mainly to the die-hard-trance[]control fans out there as it mostly represent the time when trance[]control went from a bedroom project to a global phenomenon. 

Somewhere Somehow is track No. 24 on the Lost and Found collection.

Ok, so let's try this again. Been taking note of a few of your comments, did some tweaks here and there and finally threw the track in the shiny magic box. This is a fast yet laid back track with a HUGE soundscape. I you turn up the volume and close your eyes :)

About a month ago I bought myself a new mixer. This upload is just to show off what the new mixing console (Soundcraft Ghost) does to a track that's being run through it with a bit added tweaking on the EQ.

Tech Talk notes:

+ The track was sent out to the mixer using one stereo- and one mono bus.
+ Applied EQ on all three channels on the Ghost console, and downmixed them back to Logic. (Mono bus channel used to rebalance the super wide stereo image back to a less insane stereo field).
+ Applied a gentle limiter and rendered the file.
