In their debut outing with Proximity, Co:Lateral creates a storm with an EP that breaks down boundaries between styles of drum and bass. A unification of, steppy madness, MC led tracks, effortless clean bass, and classic hard hitting D&B, all under one roof. The Southampton based duo, comprised of Knauf & Joe Raygun, already have one release under their belt with Flexout Audio and are set to make it 2 in 2 with South Coast Killers EP. 
South Coast Killers begins dark and sombre and if anything lulls us into a false sense of security. It is rapidly followed by chaotic hype building, utilising the vocal hook that will recur throughout the track, and then silence. The drop certainly hits hard and by the time we reach the title track, we have been led very much astray from where we set out on our journey; this ones the stepper.
Front Street. Co:Lateral soon strip away any sense of peace by dropping us into hard territory, hip hop samples and a collage of bass notes lead the way and create a sense of being somewhere you’re not supposed to be.  
Darker still, and further of course; Military is a real banger. Distorted, MC heavy, and driven by an uncompromising low end, this track has all the components of a true dance-floor filler. The track shines most through its variety, consistently providing new avenues with which to explore. 
Ending the EP is the gentle Blue Grass, a true journey track, ever reminiscent of the stylings of Bukem. The mastery of the clean bass sound in Blue Grass is sublime, and the addition of brass instruments helps create an aura of wonder. The carefully placed stabs do run us slightly off of our journeys course, hinting at our final destination come the end of the EP. Mellow synthesisers are the guide for the next song on the EP, 
 South Coast Killers EP is an EP that spans so much of the Drum & Bass spectrum and could therefore be a fundamental piece of kit, with a track on it to suit any mood and any party.
