Trying to get the right tone.  Guitar sounds pretty close.  The background "shimmer" needs a bit of work ... tough to do in Amplitube.
Fender strat (neck pup) -- blue Herdim pick -- (Amplitube) -- SD-1 overdrive -- Echoman delay -- Vox AC30 -- 2x12 graybacks cab
The shimmer effect is parallel rack mount:  pitch shifter -- multi-tap delay --graphic EQ -- heavy reverb
The background pulse is just a D-chord ringing out through a step slicer, then pulled into Audacity to make a loop out of it.  You can create a loop right in Amplitube, but can't record over it.

U2 - One - Instrumental Cover

used my MIM stratocaster on the bridge pup but it sounds
like its a telecaster which i dont have. 
line6 M5 used the phaser setting with mix down a bit 
the echo part i just tapped tempo it and added sum reverb
shimmer plugin.
