Unfortunately, due to some technical issues, the episode this score goes with is yet unreleased, but I figured I could share it with you guys anyway!

This episode combines two very oposite characters: Percy and Diesel.  It was a lot of fun to try and mix the two polar opposite themes together!  I think I succeeded!  Enjoy!

The Forest - .03 Terence Gets Trapped (Original Soundtrack)

Chessie 614 was built in June 1948 and was retired in 1952.  In 1955, she was pulled out of retirement for heavy freight trains, but was retired just one year later and was placed on the so-called “scrap line” with several other Chesapeake and Ohio steam engines.  

In 1975, 614 was taken off the scrap line and was sent to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland for cosmetic restoration and static display.  In 1979, 614 was traded to a man named Ross  Rowland, who restored her to full steam over the next 18 months.  

In January and February of 1985, she hauled coal trains in West Virginia, as her fuel consumption costs were lower than most diesels at the time.  She ran excursion services until 2000.   

She was last serviced in 2006, and was moved to the C&O Heritage Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia in 2011.  Interest in operating her as a special excursion engine had waned by 2012 and the project was canceled in May that year.  Now, 614 sits on static display in Clifton Forge. 

The Northern Type steam locomotive was a triumph of American steam railroading.  First introduced in 1926, these beasts roamed the coastlines and mountain passes of the nation’s busiest routes until as late as 1963.

They were fast, strong, reliable, versatile, and were very popular with passengers.  The locomotives were characterized by their eight 80-inch diameter driving wheels and four supporting wheels on each end of the massive boiler. 

They were called by many names: “Greenbrier”, “Dixie”, “Niagara”, and “Potomac,” just to name a few, but their most common name was “Northern”, and so they are commonly known today.

Many were preserved after retirement and one even remains active on the locomotive roster of a Class I railroad to this day.  These engines are like ghosts of the rails.  Specters, haunting the line, crying out after a bygone era, the like of which had never been seen before, nor ever will be seen again.

I actually wrote this story, so it was very interesting to watch the thing come to life.  Unfortunately, time was against us, and I wasn't able to score the whole thing, but here's what I did manage!  Merry Christmas!

Diesel's Season 20 Theme

I know some aren't a fan of this show, but it's a real nostalgic part of my childhood. Besides, the theme song is a bop. Many thanks to John Hayes for sending over some TT Instruments a while back. It was only a matter of time before I tried this out. Very happy with the way it sounds.
