In 1997 a CD compilation called Calambre Techno was released in Spain which included a track called Utopia. Its producers were two Spanish brothers who had been making electronic music since 1991 under the name INTRO. The track of the compilation was a remix of the original included in the Ep Intro – @Utopia from 1994. @UtopiaRemix is a simple but perfect Techno-Trance anthem, Retro-Psychedelic but futuristic, one of those timeless tracks that always sound original despite its 30 years. Now UFC is proud to re-issue this techno-trance gem on vinyl as its eighth release accompanied by remixes from current producers of different visions.

About the remixes; The duo The MFA give us their ’94 On The Floor Remix’, a perfect “hit” to hear at dawn where they perfectly combine IDM, Indie-House and Experimentalism. Spanish producer Promising/Youngster presents ‘Electric Shock Remix’, a titanic version of the original remix where powerful Electro rhythms collide with Experimental and Futuristic IDM.

In the case of Brassica we left the way free to experiment with the original remix and he gives us his ‘Psytalo Remix’, a perfect fusion of Techno, Breaks and Psychedelia, originality in its purest form as this producer has accustomed us to in all his productions. To close the Ep, we find ‘FutureCosmicalAscension Mix’ by R.I.P. Bestia, truly a different version that is difficult to include in a specific style where the main melody is progressively guided towards a state of euphoria.

What we will say though, is that you're in for a treat with this mix. Just like Mesak's own production work, this one-hour mix never stagnates. Various rhythms and moods blend together for a unique trip into the aesthetic world of this singular artist. It's our honor to present to you number 12 in our ever-growing mix-series, from a true legend in the game.

Ahslyan es seudónimo tras Ahsly Mejía, una Dj de la ciudad de Pereira que en los últimos años ha estado trabajando con la escena desde distintos focos. Musicalmente se destaca por tener variedad en sus sonidos y géneros, atravesando distintas fronteras musicales sin necesidad de encasillarse. Entre los breaks, electro, techno y otros más. Sus sets se basan en la representación de algo subjetivo, personal y emocional.

LadyHunter, Dj, performer, chismosa y gestora de Medellín, lleva 5+ años en la escena club (13 como Vj). Co-fundador de House of Tupamaras y residente de MIXXXTA, prioriza lo cuir y disidente. Co-creador de "Maricone Night Diva" y "Club Enduro". Este set para Mariposa contiene un reguero de géneros que manifiestan esa diversidad de la que se habla y se politiza en los colectivos a los que pertenece.

We recently released the most excellent debut EP from the mysterious Double Body. Four scuzzy, Lo-Fi dance floor destroyers that brim with hypnotic patterns and mesmerising, looped samples.

Even though they won't tell us their real identity, we thought we'd see what a mix from them would sound like... from early Photek that sounds "like an abandoned factory on Mars" which gives you a sense of the vibe the mix reflects their approach: a bit of an outsider, but definitely still plugged right into the world of the electronic.

For the eleventh episode of There Is No Planet Earth Stories, I'm joined by guest DJ Odi representing stories from New York

Odi (Digital Konfusion, Konkrete Jungle)Bronx-born Carlos “Odi” Castillo is not only one of the most highly-respected DJs in the stateside jungle scene, but in great part responsible for its stylistic
evolution in NYC. He got his big break after high school, when promoting for the famous mid-90’s NASA rave parties grew into a steady DJing slot. Back then, the 90’s electronica wave was called
“breaks” or “techno,” until Odi and some childhood friends who shared a lifestyle, culture and musical interest began pumping out electronic records withtheir own signature twist. 

 Having grown up on 125th street in Harlem, Odi began to introduce the hip hop
elements that helped create and push the jungle sound. It has been the defining style of NYC and the east coast in general since 1997, when the Digital Konfusion crew formed their own eponymous record label and began spinning at NYC’s most dedicated
weekly jungle party: Konkrete Jungle. Being taken in
by the new born JUNGLE SKY Imprint, as well as being the jungle/DnB buyer at Satellite records gave Odi the chance to stay ahead of the curve with promos on the regs, leading to a position as an import buyer at Nemesis music Distribution.

Eventually Odi caught the ears of TC IZLAM, the international spokesman for the respected Hip Hop society Zulu Nation. He was initiated in 2003, making him the first junglist to enter the organization. Touring regularly Odi and the Digital Konfusion Crew have remained prolific ever since, Dj’ing across the nation
and producing for multiple other artists. Odi’s home base is now in the Cincinnati area where he exists under the thumb of his cats Edward and Nola.

Some DJs have the skills to constantly evolve, to always improve, and to take hold of the dance floor from their first record and never let go. Mike Servito is one of those DJs. Gilbert is a producer from Bristol and one of the founding artists on Owain K’s Innate label, serving up tracks on the imprint’s first two releases (“Birds of Paradise” and “Polynoid” respectively). 
This year he also released the deep space electro cut “Illumination” on Distorted Sensory Perception. 
His tracks have so far received support from DJs such as Dan Curtin, Jimpster, and Domenic Cappello.

Gilbert is also a part of the Bristol based collective, Boxjam! 

In March 2019 he made his live debut. Here is a recording of the set, which is entirely made up of original material including live versions of his released music.

His Master's Voice is one of those artists that is hard to associate with a specific genre in electronic music. Instead, he is recognized as an artist whose style is continuously morphing and pushing boundaries of electronic music into uncharted territories both in the studio and behind the decks. In the past few years, we've seen a constant rise of this Hannover-based artist. From his debut release on Schleifen and remarkable contribution to KANN's Banana Split release, to mind-bending Delsin debut EP and his very first LP 'Log: a Canis Majoris' on Paul Rich's KCZMRK, His Master's Voice reminds us that the electronic music universe is infinite and that one can still make music that sounds fresh and interesting. His close friendship with VRIL, with whom he often shares countless studio hours, has brought us some fantastic collaborations in the past. Two remixes on Delsin were like an introduction to the Adderall project that His Master's Voice and VRIL started just a few weeks ago with an incredible ode to 90's IDM, the track - 'Cryosleep,' which we had the pleasure of premiering. 

The mix His Master's Voice prepared for us is an intricate journey full of twists and turns through Jungle, Leftfield, Techno, IDM, and Electronica. This is one of those mixes that you'll go back to over and over again, just to hear something new that you may miss the last time you listened to it.
