Break Room (Free DL)

Titled Computer Datafiles, by artist Luca Lucena, the EP was inspired by sounds from the early 2000s, when electro house was starting to gain traction in the global electronic scene, still before it became commercialized and lost its character. Around 2004/2005, many tracks were being released with this vibe, and Luca has always lived and admired it. In this EP, he brings back these references, trying to stay as true as possible to the production processes of that time, with much of the creation being produced on the Korg Electribe SX sampler, a classic of that era. Despite this strong inspiration, he also managed to infuse a lot of his current sonic identity: acidic, energetic, and sometimes even a bit dark. This EP also features a remix by Guilherme Cherubini of the track Deeejay, bringing a vibe more oriented towards house and groove, referencing the more futuristic and current aesthetics of Deep Tech and Addiction 21.

"It's been a while Suze - you're looking more beautiful than ever" we utter, audibly nervously as the door slams open off it's hinges, nothing but blinding white light and the sonic textures of her most recent offering gradually crescendoing and filling up the room. "JEANS" she booms,  shattering the glass from our hands. "errm, are they new?" we stutter - the music now growing inhumanly loud. The light is vacuumed back through the door, the room is now silent and dully lit - a strange square shaped package is left in the middle of the room. We tear it open - "Ah, it's Jeans' new EP out on Whos Susan".

After all that drama, we put the record on and chose which track to share with you. This was X-Coast's beastly remix, which is about as gagging for 'tha cloob' as your 18 year old self, wearing your older brothers black winkle pickers draped with blue raw denim, foying of a Paco Rabanne gift set. Starting as a label that served basically as a platform for their friends’ music in 2010, Uncanny Valley evolved into a record label that assembles acclaimed artists from the electronic music scene not only from the label’s base in Dresden but also from Germany and beyond. With a strong emphasis on the records’ artwork the label heads Philipp Demankowski, Conrad Kaden and Carl-Johannes Schulze are constantly on a mission to establish and refine the artists from the roster as well as to search for new talents. Artists as Jacob Korn, Cuthead, Credit 00, Massimiliano Pagliara, CVBox or Panthera Krause all feel at home on the label, giving them the chance to develop projects that are not only music related but can also integrate different art forms. With the two offshoots Rat Life and shtum under its belt, Uncanny Valley does not stand still to explore the full spectrum of electronic and not so electronic music from House via Disco, Hip-Hop or Ambient through to Techno. A range that can also be depicted when the three label heads come together for a DJ set as Uncanny Valley DJs.

ELANDA, is a multidisciplinary artist blending DJing, live performance, and somatic movement practices and sculpting. She has performed at prominent venues and festivals across Scotland and England, earning a dj residency at Glasgow’s iconic La Cheetah, where her sets fuse Afro inspired electronica , UK bass, jazz, electronica, dubstep and more. 

In 2024, ELANDA transitioned into live performance, incorporating music production, vocals, and stagecraft to connect with audiences in a deeper, more dynamic way.

As a co-founder of the Lüuma Collective and Annies Eden, they create conscious spaces through events that celebrate holistic healing, sound baths, and somatic workshops. ELANDA’s work is dedicated to fostering community and empowering personal expression through music and movement.
