Like hardly any other ambassador of modern Rhein Main House music, Christian Burkhardt has experienced a true rocket-like takeoff in the last year. Burkhardt's Cocoon debut EP "Stopover Goa" has, after one year, still a place of honour in many DJ's record cases. Also his legendary live set in the pouring rain at last year's Green & Blue may belong to the lasting memories of a life dedicated to electronic music. The Heidelberg-born producer has already worked for La Peña, Raum…Musik and Oslo, and his collaborations with Einzelkind and Sascha Dive became a talking point, too. With his second EP for Cocoon, he again sets new standards. There's nobody around who is able to alienate vocals from the collective memory of Afro-American culture into a hallucinogenic cocktail without harmful side effects in such a way than Burkhardt is. Nevertheless, and despite the massive, forward-pushing bass drum and hand claps, he never loses the focus of his Soul. Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’ Hot Creations offshoot, Hot Waves, releases its third stupendous compilation this September. The 14-track compilation is released digitally on the 24th September. There’s a double-pack 12” featuring six killer tracks from the compilation released on the 10th September.

Set up as a platform for burgeoning producers the Hot Waves compilations have gone from strength to strength. Giving a voice to many new producers as well as stalwarts from the Hot Creations stable, this third Volume is probably the strongest yet.

This volume features previous artists from Hot Waves compilations such as Alexis Raphael with his call to arms: ‘Warhorn’, French producer Julien Sandre teams up with Italian Dast for the brilliant ‘Wanna Be’, another driving house monster perfect for Hot Waves! Wildkats, are back teaming up with TBoy to produce the acid monster ‘Denied’, also Dirty Channels make their second Hot Waves appearance with the excellent ‘So Special’.

Hot Creations artists Lee Foss, Miguel Campbell, Robert James, Richy Ahmed, Mark Jenkyns, Digitaria, Funky Fat and wAFF also make appearances alongside new artist’s such as Lee Webster’s hypnotic soul- infused slice of dirty house, ‘Spend All Her Money’, new Italian artist Bartolemeo delivers the psychedelic slow breaks of ‘Jean Is Not Death’. Tom Ruijg’s drum-tastic ‘Space Frase’ and 80’s inspired ‘Zohra’ by Guilhem and Remi Mazet.

Robert James deliver another battle weapon in the James arsenal with fantastic ‘Body Movement’ whilst wAFF delivers the sublime ‘Sunshine’, a fantastic slice of hedonistic house. Miguel Campbell and Richy Ahmed come together to make the electro-inspired ‘Tell Me Why’, whilst Lee Foss delivers another corker in the form of ‘Life On Mars’. Mark Jenkyns goes from strength to strength from his latest Hot Creations release with ‘Moola’. Finally there is an exclusive remix by Funky Fat of Digitaria’s huge ‘Crazy Life’! A veritable feast of beats and basslines!

Watch out for Hot Waves 4 scheduled for release in late November this year with some more sonic delights!

Following acclaimed excursions on Hypercolour (‘Needs You EP’) and Will Saul’s Aus Music (‘Child EP’) last year, George FitzGerald is preparing to make his return to his Hotflush home for the first time since 2011. Premiering in FitzGerald’s debut Radio 1 Essential Mix last month as part of the ‘2013’s Future Stars’ series, ‘Thinking Of You’ is scheduled to drop as a Beaport exclusive on 18th March, with full physical release and accompanying tracks to follow in May.
 
Having displayed his innate understanding of how to craft a musical narrative with the Essential Mix, ‘Thinking Of You’ turns to the darker realms of the dance floor imbued with the same kind of precision-tooled grooves, nuanced melodic touch and emotive shades that have garnered him such praise in the past.
 
The last twelve months have been extremely busy for FitzGerald as he continues to capture the attention of industry heads and fans alike with his refined and emotive homegrown club music. Chicken Lips: All That You Do (Joe Goddard Remix) (Preview)

a/jus/ted is the musical concept of veteran producer Justin Strauss and analog aficionado Teddy Stuart, better known as Eddie Mars. The pairs inaugural release comes in the form of "A brighter light" featuring the incandescent vocals of Jeremy Glenn for London based Under the shade records.

Although a relatively new pairing the due kick off life with a masterful original which moves through its earlier stripped analogue subtleties into an effervescent marauder. The gleaming arp hooks and Glenn's spritely soulful vocal are gradually joined by whacked out acid tinged licks punctuated by a bright billowy bass throughout all the while being lifted from the rousing pads.  All in all achieving a track that sounds at once classic, yet unmistakably modern, file under "end of night".  A real accomplishment for such a new outfit.

Adhering to the current trend for all things Jersey circa 90's is the Lars Vegas (more commonly known as one half of Detroit Swindle) remix. Going straight for the jugular with tight stabs and punchy percussion its manifesto is set out clear to see from the outset.  What makes this different from the run of garage productions currently swamping the scene is its tight pairing with the vocals.  Rather than chopping into a garbled nonsense, Glenn's vocals are allowed free reign and are used in there entirety to provide the extra musicality to move Vegas' remix into a standout weapon.  Make no mistake this will destroy a dancefloor.

Rounding up a/jus/ted show there versatility by remixing themselves, weighing in with a track brimming with ideas. Murky pads align with the tightly sequenced percussion that percolates from the outset. Pushed on by sonorus pads and a relentless deep grueling bass which provides a pivot for the track to advance into a deep, hypnotic ensemble lifted by clips of vocal, this time sounding much more jaded than on the original.  This would certainly be a gem dropped in the most smoke and strobe dens of the world!

If this form can be kept up then a/jus/ted have a very bright future ahead of them.  Grab it now!!

The label’s founders, PillowTalk producer and member Michael Tello along side Ray Zuniga, pay homage to their fathers’ business continuing the family name and artistic principle. Originally from Los Angeles, the label mates migrated north to San Francisco and now live bi-coastal in NYC and Berlin. The forthcoming release of Signal Flow entitled “Dirty Hands E.P.” features two prodigious original compositions including the lead track entitled “Dirty Hands” co-produced by label mate Jonny Cruz and laced with the signature sound and intoxicating lyrics of Berlin’s, Aquarius Heaven on vocals. Since the labels premier showcase and live performance after the BPM Festival in Tulum Mexico, the track has received serious buzz and positive acclaim. Accompanying the lead track is “Drug Lips”, a dark but beautiful techno beat with melodic and sultry vocal flavors by Wolf + Lamb newcomer, Navid Izadi. Supporting the two original tracks is a dubbed out disco funk remix of Drug Lips produced by Izadi himself and an instrumental mix which rounds out this new labels debut EP perfectly.
