Exist no.18 brings two very special UK artists - Steevio & Duckett

Steevio is a live electronic musician who runs the Freerotation Electronic Music Festival, Mindtours record label, and Freerotation record label with his partner Suzybee. Steevio specialises in live improvisations on an analogue modular synthesizer, and records everything as one off tracks in real time. He also performs live as part of AV duo Steevio & Suzybee in clubs and festivals worldwide.

Duckett is a producer and performer from Wales and a core resident of the renowned festival Freerotation. Releasing on labels including Until My Heart Stops, Freerotation, Wisdom Teeth, Greta Cottage Workshop, Galdoors, Bercuise Heroique, etc his music is difficult to pin down but sits somewhere on the edge of house, techno, ambient and experimental.

He hosts a monthly show on Mutant Radio and is about to launch his own label /platform. Highlights worth checking are his Boiler Room live studio sets and Hessle Audio radio guest appearances.

Steevio's DJ set consists of all his own darker techno and broken techno tunes, mostly vinyl releases, a couple of digital only releases, and a recently recorded live jam. Much of this material hasn’t been used in his mixes before.

Ducketts mix consists of entirely exclusive material comprising some upcoming releases and more predominantly includes some exploratory live studio jams at 90bpm.  All fresh material.

Exist Palestine brings forward the highly talented local artists and the brightest musical visionaries in the global electronic music scene. Exist seeks to build bridges between international artists, Palestinian sound innovators, the many that have been displaced, and musicians who are unable to attend the festival due to politically set testrictions. The lineups consist of artists who participated in Exist Festival 2019 as well as the ones who will be invited to play the next editions.

Leizure is back in action with Huerta's fourth EP on the label entitled, “Pan’s Grotto Jam.” 

— In the heart of an ancient forest, concealed by twisted vines and moss-covered rocks, lay the hidden grotto of Pan. Pan, the mischievous and jovial god of nature, reclined against the vines idly. With a sly grin, he brought his enchanted flute to his lips, sending ethereal notes rippling through the air. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, the creatures of the forest, touched by the god's mystical presence, found themselves swaying in a gentle dance beneath the trees.

J.dB is a lover of the dub, the wub and aquatic sounds, an aspiring audio engineer, curator, producer and speaker enthusiast. Show Curator and production designer at Porter Street Studio, working on shows that range from ambient and experimental to house and techno.  Currently releasing dawless dub techno with Los Angeles based label and event series “New Palm”. Keep a look out for an upcoming vinyl release this summer.

Self Surrender - DJ Mix

The mastermind behind Basic Channel, Hard Wax and Rhythm & Sound doesn't do mixes. For RA.1000, he made an exception.

Trace Mark Ernestus's path, and you trace the evolution of electronic sound itself. The timeline of contemporary Berlin is unimaginable without him. At first, that meant Hard Wax, the crucial hub that shaped the early era of the city's techno revolution. Carl Craig once said it plainly: "Mark was ground zero."

From there, Ernestus never stopped. There's the birth of dub techno and the near-flawless catalogue that followed through Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound. There's his immersion in Senegalese mbalax with Ndagga Rhythm Force. Lately, that means Open Ground the Wuppertal bunker that's letting people hear music as never before.

As part three of RA.1000, Ernestus has kindly supplied his first studio DJ mix. As you might expect, it's technically immaculate, but more than that, it feels like a substantial and generous conduit to one of the world's most vital genres.

Amapiano remains underexplored in music media. Publications like our own are still learning to keep pace with the South African sound's global pull, animating millions across the globe. 

You'll hear the range and richness of the genre across the near two-hour mix, from the gothic, percussive stomp of Caltetonic's "Bambela"  to the devotional glow of GemValleyMusiq's "Something Spiritual."

Through all of this, Ernestus has remained understated. He lets the music speak for him, with a quiet honesty that lies in decades of opening doors—creating the conditions for new sounds and scenes to flourish and carry the culture forward.

Miracles (Stewart Randolph) is co-creator and resident of 𝔾ℝ𝕆𝕋𝕋𝕆.  He and his friend Cory Fisher (@neptuneface) started 𝔾ℝ𝕆𝕋𝕋𝕆 as an ode to dub techno in May 2025.  𝔾ℝ𝕆𝕋𝕋𝕆 is thrilled to launch it's mix series with Miracles' closing set recorded from the very first event.

Miracles is a producer and dj currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Mixing the experimental with the more familiar, he aims to create unique sonic environments with an emphasis on atmosphere, pulsing rhythms, and other-worldly sounds. No matter the genre, he has always gravitated toward the deeper, more emotive side of electronic music. His newest project alongside co-producer Cory Fisher titled 𝔾ℝ𝕆𝕋𝕋𝕆 is a deep dive into dub techno.

A one-hour live set of all original Brick material — hypnotic loops, tribal percussion, dub weight, breaks, and moments of distortion that mirror the energy of the room as much as the machines. Performed and captured in real time: no edits, no retakes. Some of these tracks may surface later, others may remain exclusive to this set.
