Otis Stacks est né d’une collaboration entre le producteur Danois Michael Munch aka Just Mike, et Elias Wallace, auteur compositeur chanteur de Pasadena, en Californie.
C’est lors d’une tournée dans les Alpes françaises avec leur autre projet commun : Dafuniks, que les deux compères écrivent leur première chanson, «Fashion Drunk» premier extrait et single de cet EP à paraître. Ce premier essai, les conforte dans leur aventure commune et leur collaboration unique prend forme. Le projet OTIS STACKS a désormais pris vie et les amène à écrire et composer lorsqu’ils se retrouvent en France pour la tournée des Dafuniks. Entre Nice, Montpellier, et Paris l’Ep se construit et se peaufine à distance entre les Etats Unis et le Danemark.
Leur musique analogique se nourrit d’une base synthétique avec de larges nuances empruntées à la culture hip-hop dans laquelle tous deux ont grandi. Le tissu musical construit par Just Mike est brodé d’une collection de sons de synthétiseurs analo- giques vintage qu’il collectionne depuis plus d’une décennie.
Avec eux il expérimente de nouveaux sons, construit, déconstruit, jusqu’à produire un son soul clairsemé, épuré, et novateur. Une dentelle musicale qui permet ensuite à la voix puissante et sensuelle d’Elias de se poser au fil de mélodies accrocheuses et aux textes profonds abordant les notions de perte, de douleur, de nostalgie, mais aussi un regard abrupt sur la nature humaine parfois vide de sens.
C’est en 2016 qu’ils rejoignent le label hexagonal Underdog Records (Dafuniks, Flox, Fanga, Tribeqa, John Milk, D-Bangerz, Sweatshop...) ainsi que le producteur de spectacles CARTEL ( Chinese Man, Deluxe) séduit par la qualité de leur live session enregistrée chez Findspire.
Otis Stacks un projet soul, aux sonorités vintage, et aux arrangements contemporains, porté par une écriture émotionnelle et réfléchie qui ne vous laissera pas indifférent.

MATTEO (aka Zé Mateo), musician, script-writer, director and one of the founding member of the band CHINESE MAN, will release his first solo album in 2018. This album is called SCAGLIA ("scale" in Italian). For several years, while MATTEO was making music, touring with the band CHINESE MAN, through life crisis, places he crossed and people he met, he has been producing music. On Summer 2017, gathering all these tracks created from those different places and emotions he experienced, MATTEO has been able to create various but coherent pieces of music that can match these multiple environments. The symbol of chameleon seemed like the obvious choice, as adaptation is its strength. The creative process is hybrid and progressive, sometimes very personal, sometimes collaborative, fully arranged or inspired by a sample. We might add an instrumental piece later with maybe a MC or a singer. MATTEO usually works with musicians who bring their own style or capture themes he worked on and offered them. For the whole creative process, MATTEO also gathered artistic advices from his friends from CHINESE MAN and people of talent who are part or collaborate with the record label CHINESE MAN RECORDS.
