A gathering swarm of united insects. A collaboration with multiple members of the Disquiet Junto project.

Doom Swarm (disquiet0502)

A swarm of Gerard Paresys' HybridInsect approaches.

Abandoned an attempt at a more complex way of sequencing this - and instead went for the (obvious?) freezing the sample in Beads and manually creating a swarm by playing the module's controls. Some post-processing in Audacity.

The Visitation of the Swarm (disquiet0502)

Disquiet Junto Project 0502: Global Swarming. The Assignment: Create a swarm of imaginary insects.

I used a fistful of insects from 0494 and 0498, threw them in a generative mixing setup in Ableton, exported it to stems, added changing reverbs (for room) and tempo (for doppler effect) and EQ for the illusion of coming and flying on, with a little panning in the middle (for being orbited). The result was way to long, this is the short version and I think it's good – and somehow scary.
