Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, and a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands. Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey. 
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori, two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

Es ist die neuste Acker Scheibe, und sie dreht sich um einen Song von Il Civetto. Die Berliner Band ist ein wunderbar multikultureller Haufen. Ihr Sound erinnert an Gypsy, Folk oder Swing und lässt sich doch mit keinem dieser Etiketten beschreiben. So zu hören etwa in Liberté Ana. Monolink transformiert diesen Titel in eine groovige Downbeat-Nummer, deren schleppende Leichtigkeit hervorragend zu einem entspannten Nachmittag oder auf eine Afterhour passt. PopHop macht, was er am besten kann: Er lässt die Fetzen fliegen, wobei seine knackige Bassline und treibenden Percussions jedoch viel Platz für die Seele von Liberté Ana lassen. Umami zieht sogar noch mehr Register und steuert mit zündender Ekstase deutlich in Richtung Stoßzeit auf der Tanze.

It’s the music of the space that extends between oceans and mountain slopes. It’s the music of the space that is much bigger and much more adventurous than the four walls of a club look like. It’s the latest record on Acker, and it orbits around a song from Il Civetto. The band from Berlin is a wonderfully multicultural bunch. Their sound is reminiscent of Gypsy, Folk or Swing, but at the same time it doesn’t really fit any of these labels. Liberté Ana is a perfect example. Monolink turns this track into a groovy Downbeat tune that vibrates much higher than its low BPM count - the perfect soundtrack for laid-back afternoons or afterhours. PopHop does what he does best: Party. However, between the catchy bassline and the tight percussions of his remix there’s still a lot of space for the soul of Liberté Ana. Umami goes even further and creates an ecstatic banger that has everything it takes to be played during the prime time on the dance floor.
