 Mesmer has been the broken beats pioneer in Romania since 1996. 
 Founder of the first Romanian breakbeat label Scarcity Records and responsible for producing the first ever Romanian breaks album, Furious Fish released on Sound Of Habib in 2008.
 Mesmer has quickly become known as one of the ﬁnest producers the country has to offer and has had support from many of the biggest names around: Annie Nightingale on Radio One, Jay Cunning on Kiss FM, Matt Darey's “Nocturnal” and many more. With releases on high profile record labels such as Future Perfect (of Hardcore Beats crew), Bombtraxx and Sound Of Habib, Mesmer is building a reputation as one to watch, and as of 2009 Mesmer has launched his own label Scarcity Records. 

 With an eclectic view, Scarcity drops mainly breaks and sometimes even tech-house, dubstep and drum and bass tracks for the dance floors worldwide while maintaining a catalogue of productions that sets a standard of quality. If you like your beats dipped in lush melodies, acidic hooks and thunderous basslines, then this is a label worthy of your attention. Scarcity has become one of the most consistent labels around today and recently won the “Best New Label” award at the biggest international breakbeat awards Breakspoll in 2011 held in London, UK. "We Must Unite" is a straight up peak time party tune with a catchy Spanish guitar and horn loop providing the backbone, whilst a huge bassline dominates the frequency range. A tasteful vocal line brings some added ear candy, but it's the beats and bass that really give this one the energy to make it truly peak time!

"Influx" delves deeper with precision perfect crisp beats, a twisted cut up vocal, and a synth line that lifts the track to a floater, progressive place. Ambient pads in the breakdown give it a warm feel whilst still remaining firmly in dance floor territory. One for the 4 AM heads!

Robosapiens might have killed all the cool kids "cos they didn't have respect and cos they had all the sex", but they are now still coming back. Nine months after Robosapiens' second album, Unfollow, we are releasing the opening track as a single. With lyrics and vocals by Jack Martin, singer for the band Fewels, Cool Kids is an ironic take on the feeling of not fitting in, but also not wanting to fit in. I mean, who would want to fit in with posers in designer clothes taking selfies? Jamie of Robosapiens and Jack wrote the track after a particularly horrifying experience in a Bristol club.
Two remixes then give Cool Kids a new flavour: one by DNCH, Kiosek Records' own techfunk master whose track Golem brought the Kiosek roof down two years ago, and the other by Jamie and his friend Derren aka Electric Mayhem who built a dense techno monolith (shh - stay tuned for more of their work on Kiosek soon). And as a bonus, you also get an exclusive track, De Activate. Prime example of breakbeat at its best.
