First up is "Take You Back" which is a straight up mixture of breaks, disco and acid, starting out with a jangly guitar line over punchy kicks and snares, before dropping into a hefty 303 line. And what's more - it WORKS! Topped off with some looped vocals, this one's peak time fodder to get guys and girls moving!

Flipside "Bulldozer" takes (as the name suggests) a more heavyweight approach, drawing more on their big beat and rave influences with some beefed up breakbeats and low-slung live sounding bass. This one's part Chemical Brothers, part Fatboy Slim (circa 1996), bouncy and punchy, and a vocal that rides the beats perfectly. This is one to do damage to sound systems and set parties right off!"

As we head firmly towards the summer months, breaks don Colombo brings some serious heat with a breaks double header for our 83rd release!

“Done It Again” leads with way with a huge orchestral intro that drops to a pulsating low end throb and shuffled classic breaks.  Synth swells and vocal stabs add the ear candy, and the mid section build keeps the energy flowing.  It’s an instant grabber this one, perfect for big summer sound systems or heads down at 4am, and it’s some of the best work we’ve ever heard from Colombo!

Colombo keeps the beats nicely swung in a UK garage style for the intro on “I’m Sorry”, reminiscent of the 2000s ‘Breakbeat Garage” genre, and when the bass drops in it stomps both feet firmly there.  This one’s for the ladies AND the lads with plenty of groove to keep butts moving, but with plenty of attitude and grit.
