Following an impressive year for Brazillian CAMZ, with her debut release ‘Saudade feat. Mestre Barrao’ gaining support from industry heavyweights such as Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber and BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar, she now turns up the heat with the fiery three track ‘Respeita As Mina (Respect The Girls)’ landing on Hottrax this June. 

“Respeita As Mina is actually a diss track, and I took inspiration from the Baile Funk female MCs who often sing/write about their personal relationship experiences in their music with a touch of acid humor. The whole EP is extremely personal and reflects not only my Brazilian roots with Carnival, Samba, and Brazilian Funk rhythms and instruments, but my life as a whole, and what I am all about.” - CAMZ 

Taking inspiration from her Brazillian heritage ‘Respeita As Mina (Respect The Girls)’ delivers a drum-driven groove with alluring vocal cuts and a charged-up rhythm for an explosive, carnival-ready sound. Followed by ‘Fight Zone’ bringing rattling drum hits over a low-end rumbling funk, before ‘Bem-Te-Vi’ lays down a warm summer vibe with tribal vocal calls and energetic bongos, rounding off a trio of dance-floor heaters for Hottrax.

As we slowly approach the double-digit on our catalogue number, we welcome an individual heading up Spain's next wave of exciting talent, Ssero. The Barcelona-based artist has collected some wicked releases over the last couple of years on labels like Deeperfect, Revival, and Moan, showing exactly why he is at the forefront of the minimal-house landscape, and he now writes his first notes on the titled 'Un Plis' EP.

The lead track opens the package with a gloomy and skippy combination of rubbery bass, granular sounds, and scattering elements, whilst 'Lighz & Chill' moves into more tunnel-ish territories with trippy drum patterns and further vocal murmurs. Closing the EP in style, ElRow frontman De La Swing's take on 'Un Plis' is a lively re-injection of congas, playful grooves, and crazy n' hooky vocals throughout.

Este track tiene historia por ser una versión de un corte original del legendario alias de Richie Hawtin, también por la forma en la que fue elegido para ser parte de las 22 remezclas de la primera serie de remixes hechos a Plastikman.

"Para hacer The Remixes Richie dio a elegir tracks y Ethnik fue mi segunda opción, la primera fue Goo. Lo que utilicé de Goo fue un loop y el resto fue mío, pero necesitaba un tema más melódico, del que pudiese hacer una versión más especial. Así que elegí Ethnik. Al inicio a Richie no le gustó la idea de que un tema downtempo fuese convertido en un track de pista; pero a base de pincharlo delante de él, que viera la reacción del público y cómo realmente funcionaba cada vez, lo eligió. Al final salieron los dos, a Richie le gustó tanto Ethnik como Goo; sin embargo, lo que más recuerdo es que fue un complejo proceso de convencimiento.”
