Premiere: Fernie — Dreaming Of Winter [Aurora Mística]

Feel Fly, the alias of Perugia-based producer Daniele Tomassini, a visionary force in Italy’s electronic music scene and co-founder of Afro Templum, debuts on Taste Rec. with his new EP.

Titled "Festina Lente", an old Latin saying that means "make haste slowly", this deep work invites listeners to surrender to dance, movement, and the flow of energy in a timeless space, untouched by the idea of an ending. It's sincere and atmospheric, moving through the artist’s musical roots: progressive sounds, cosmic moods and a touch of lightness drawn from Italian dance culture.
The release blends carefully sacred, dreamy visions with raw rhythmic sequences and warm synthesized basslines: magical.

Amsterdam based devotee Van Anh is a DJ pur sang with over a decade of experience to her name, making her the respected artist we get to enjoy today. Her sincere love for digging, selecting and technical mixing oozes through every vessel of her body. Although her dedication has always been around, her musical odyssey seems to really have taken a turn since her transition to vinyl. This has not only opened doors to further developing her delicate taste in music but it has given her the chance to fade deeper into the electronic music spectrum.
The name 'Van Anh', which translates to 'clouds', fits her hypnagogic magnetic way of mixing like a glove, allowing her to withdraw from any fixed-genre sets and rather resonate to the sound waves of her liking. Very much like clouds, her sound takes on multiple shapes and forms varying from deep ethereal ambient to hard uncompromising techno. Never monolithic, what makes listening to Van Anh so enjoyable is the intricate way of combining all these sounds, bridging music from the past and the present.
That she knows how to shepherd an audience is underlined by her residencies at Den Haag based The Crave and Rotterdam based Transportbedrijf. The latter is a continuation of Perron, Rotterdam's underground hotspot that has welcomed some of the biggest names in electronic music. Whether it's a warming-up, the peak of the night or a closing set, she will seamlessly move you on the dance floor. Besides from having shared the stage with several heavyweights, Van Anh also hosts her own event in Rotterdam called ISOTOOP - a platform created to explore projects and experiment with sounds as she pleases. The concept is all about channelling new expressions of creativity further into the unknown, in a genuine attempt to open people's minds to new sounds.

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal, neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal.

Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

渋谷頭バーにてDAYBREAK、青山蜂にてUNISENSEを主催。日本を代表するTechno DJをブッキングする。2019年FUSIONのcrewとして日本を代表するクラブであるVENTにてパーティーのオーガナイズを始動。DeepbassやDelta Funktionenを招聘する。今みんなに伝えたい海外のTechnoアーティストにフォーカスを当て、アンダーグラウンドシーンを盛り上げる。また、Rødhådが牽引する世界最高峰のテクノレーベルDystopianの10周年レーベルショーケースでは、メインアクトとしてプレイする。﻿
淡々とした流れの中でも常に心地よく踊ることができ、音楽の世界にのめり込むようなDeepなTechnoを選曲する。DJ名の由来通り、宇宙を彷彿させる空間をプロデュースすることを追求している。﻿
ドイツやイタリアのPodcastからMixを配信するなど、活動の場を広げている。

Sakuma is a 29-year-old DJ based in Tokyo. 
Raised in Niigata, with a huge interest in music, especially metal and experimental, and emerged as a DJ in 2010. 
He moved to Tokyo in 2015 to pursue his music carrier and started his party ‘Modest’ two years later, in which he has invited artists such as Valentino Mora. 
Other than Modest, he has played alongside with DJ NOBU, Rrose, Marco Shuttle and more artists at clubs or festivals like rural and Re:birth. 
Not only as a techno DJ, but also as a house DJ, he has experienced to be resident of Oath, a quality club in Tokyo focused on house music.

幼い頃からメタル、エクスペリメンタルバンドに影響を受け、その多様性に富んだプレイスタイルは緻密かつ躍動感がある。
2015年を機に拠点を新潟から東京に移し、2017年には自身のパーティ”Modest”を始動。
Valentino Mora等を招聘するなど、現在のシーンにおいて重要な役割を果たしてきた。
2017年から2018年の1年間は青山OATHのレジデントとして活躍。
その他、都内主要クラブでもプレイし、DJ NOBU、Rrose、Marco Shutlle等、数多くのアーティストをサポート。
2019年には瀬戸内国際芸術祭で行われたDommuneへの出演を皮切りにrural、Re:birth等のフェスでもプレイし、今後さらなる躍進が期待される。

As the Japanese society was gripped with the harsh realities of the new world, he found a coping mechanism and started expressing his feelings in the form of sound. He thought about his past, his future and how he relates to the world.

At the end, when the process was done and the music was finalized, he felt a sense of relief and new hope. He evolved.
