Continuing a strong spring season, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Rockka back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from Sri Lanka Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident has already compiled an impressive resume, showcasing his music via Balkan Connection, Droid9, Freegrant Music and One Of A Kind, and in turn earning support from genre tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo. Having made his Dopamine White debut in 2021 with ‘Night Rockets', Rockka now makes a welcome return to the label with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Carnage'.

Beginning with the title selection ‘Carnage', Rockka displays that groovy progressive style for which he has become known. Led by a tough chunky groove, its dance floor sensibility is high from the outset, as rhythms ripple and percussion flickers across the first act. Phasing atmospheres and a swaying arp descend over the hypnagogic groove leading into the break, bringing with them tension filled refrains and a slow tactful build which is sure to win over even the most discerning aficionados.

Selection two ‘Mon Desir' finds Rockka continuing to operate at a creative peak as he crafts a midset percussive gem of a track. The Sri Lankan artist carries a mystical vibes through sweeping effects and haunting phasing, before a break of shimmering pads and misty melodies seals its emotive appeal.

The release concludes with the peak time vibes of ‘Olimpus'. Tempo rises a touch but Rockka's uncanny ability to balance groove and atmosphere remains, as chugging grooves, lively percussive arrangements and an array of precise effects unite for a great sense of depth and space. The main break serves to further the narrative through waves of hazy refrains and phasing textures, eventually leading to a flurry of drums and a finale that is equal parts driving and cosmic. It rounds out three powerful tracks from Rockka, an artist who continues to excite as he emerges from Sri Lanka's burgeoning progressive scene.

Golan Zocher & Choopie - SAO (Extended Mix) [Univack]

Future Avenue is excited to welcome back Argentine producer Martin Fernàndez to the label with his enchanting EP "Emerald." The title track has received remix treatments from Tojogo in the UK and Mind The Gaap in Poland. Alongside the title track, this EP features the song "Melancolia," which has been reimagined by fellow Argentine Ander Cesteros and Vishnu (LK), who hails from Sri Lanka and is now based in Australia, making this EP a truly international collaboration.

Next in the time-line, Time After Time presents TAT006, a captivating release by the talented Mexican producer, David Podhel, marking his debut on the Colombo-based label. The opening track, Albiorix, serves as a mesmerizing dancefloor essential that seamlessly draws in both dedicated genre enthusiasts and casual listeners alike. Infused with spacy effects and psychedelic nuances, it skillfully constructs a meditative atmosphere, delving into the recesses of the subconscious mind. Following track, Titan, maintains the hypnotic allure established at the outset but takes a melodic leap, showcasing David's creative prowess. The arrangement gracefully navigates from hypnotic depths to a euphoric climax, preserving the distinct artistic signature of the producer. The final piece unveils Echo Daft's interpretation of "Albiorix," steering towards smooth atmospheres, rhythmic percussions, and meditative undertones. Echo Daft skillfully retains the essence of the original while infusing his Sri Lankan flair, infusing the release with delightful diversity. WHATCLASS, the trailblazing platform redefining music learning through artist-led Classes, mentorship, and structured curriculums, has joined forces with iconic DJ and producer Joris Voorn and his label, Spectrum, to offer a select group of emerging, and established, producers the opportunity to release their music on Spectrum.

Voorn, who has collaborated with WHATCLASS to create an exclusive tutorial, curated submissions from the platform's students, ultimately selecting five standout tracks for this debut WHATCLASS compilation. The resulting collection highlights innovative sounds and fresh perspectives from aspiring international artists.

Opening the compilation is Slovenian producer Eskape with 'Lost Desert,' a track that sets the mood with warm pads, wistful melodies, and ethereal vocals - a perfect introduction to our new Spectrum journey. Following is Brazilian duo Fernandez & Silvera with 'Parallel Life,' building on the momentum of their recent Purified signing 'Emptiness.' The duo's track combines delicate synths, flutes, and minimal percussion to create an uplifting, melodic soundscape.

Representing the UK, Jay Lapse raises the energy with 'CB1,' marked by relentless hi-hats, a pounding kick drum, and haunting keys that form a stark, desolate techno soundscape, softened by its eerie strings.

From there, the compilation shifts to a housier vibe with Swedish producer Magnuss and his groovy, deep houser 'I Can Feel It,' followed by the hypnotic, percussive beats of Shombo's 'Feel Ya' - two standout house cuts guaranteed to energise any dance floor and a fitting finale for this debut showcase of exciting talent.
