Recently, Fran made his debut on the label with an impressive remix for Gaspar Aguilera and Manu Pavez's "Essence Of Soul," which was supported by many DJs. Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Onestar Records welcomes PIMI to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Colombia, Juan Carlos Ortiz Pimienta aka PIMI is already an established DJ in his home country. A regular at some of Medellin's premiere venues such as Viuz, PIMI has won over the city's crowds with his unique selections and exquisite programming skills. Also working on the art of music production, PIMI now embarks on his first steps as an electronic artist, as he makes his Onestar debut with a three-track showcase entitled 'Mantra'.

The title selection 'Mantra' sets the tone with a pacey pulsating, hypno-groove and driving percussive arrangements. Tough and trippy in equal measure, PIMI builds drama across the first act with deconstructed sonics, cosmic arps and a mountainous groove which forges a path into the main break. Percolating arps take centrestage across the interlude, nicely interwoven with the devilish effects, as the beats drop in thunderous fashion for an exhilarating finale.

Selection two 'Strong Feeling' lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Tempo comes down a touch here while fitting nicely into a progressive house narrative. Once again PIMI carves out a shapely groove, perfectly laying the foundation for hook-heavy arps and chirpy percussion which pushes energy into the break. Electric lines and filtered effects dominate the centrepiece, perfectly providing the backdrop for flickering co-actions, before ultimately spearheading a driving final act.

The release concludes with 'Blue Storm' which finds PIMI continuing to explore the peak-time style for which he is sure to become known for. A tough, muscular groove sits at the foundation, while dancing arps and haunted synth phrasing add bounce and drive. Proving his prowess as a supreme effects craftsman, PIMI brings a unique array of vibrant sonics which add depth and colour across the journey, as squelchy synths and warm bass swells propel the track to a smooth conclusion. It rounds out a hugely successful production debut for PIMI, an artist who looks to emerge further as 2023 unfolds. Highly recommended.

Integral Bread again shows how difficult it's to classify his music style, creating two very different tracks, with resources inspired by various genres, which also draws on the different styles of his mates.

'Memories' (feat. Mihalyz) is a House piece (sometimes Progressive, sometimes Melodic) that captivates with its evocative and nostalgic sequences, arpeggios, and elements, that take us through different moods throughout its entire journey. 

'Rust Stain' (feat. Fonome) is a hypnotic, darker, and more minimalist track, with a slinky groove, and acid & grating elements. Progressive House, Melodic Techno, Minimal Techno, Electronica? Who knows, just worry about dancing.
