Landing in May on Tomi & Kesh's NoZzo Music, up and coming UK artist Matt Arnold makes his label debut with 'Beat'. Accompanied by Distance Music head honcho Bassel Darwish, the EP features an emphatic three-track combo that we can't wait to share.

'Beat' gets the EP off to an impressive start. Clean and punchy drum work kicks through a rolling bed of percs and tonal fills, interjected by catchy vox. The standout element has to be its funk-inspired melodics with strings, pads, synths and more. 

Next up, Bassel Darwish's remix strips things back and focuses on driving low-frequency elements to create a gritty underground feel. Homing in on the groove, this minimal-style roller with subtle melodics packs a punch from the bottom up. 

Last but not least, 'Yeah' introduces us further to Matt Arnold's quirky side. Breaking out of the conventional rolling Tech House blueprint to treat us to some more electronic-feeling melodic factors, it retains its underground feel whilst leaning into some more rave-inspired sounds and high-energy aspects.

The next release on Unnamed & Unknown comes from up-and-coming UK artist Matt Arnold, making his label debut with ‘Move’. Accompanied by young Costa Rican talent Newball, the EP features an emphatic four-track combo that we can’t wait to share.

First comes the title track ‘More’ which bursts with upbeat energy and percussive flair. Sturdy drums and rippling percs bounce off its rhythmic sub-bass, boosted further by hooky vox and subtle melodic elements. 

‘Watcha Doing’ keeps things energetic with a shuddering groove and more emphatic drum work. An engaging roller, its terrace tech beat combines with another appealing sub-bass, bright synths and creative fills. 

Next up, ‘toasted’ takes a more nonchalant approach. More rolling drum work combines with layers upon layers of sharp percs and deep melodies, driven by roaring sub-bass, sizzling FX and catchy vox cuts.

Newball’s remix of ‘Toasted’ completes the release impressively. Driving drums and scattered percs give the track robust rippling energy, combined with pulsating bass and rich synths - bringing an interesting contrast of different characteristics to the track.

Another impressive offering from a talented South American artist, our latest release comes in hot from Kardox. Comprising two upbeat and bottom-heavy peak time tracks, Kardox’s Boom Beat EP makes a promising statement on his label debut. 

Opening the release, ‘Boom Beat’ jumps straight into heavyset drum work and racy hat grooves. Layered percs add movement and tone whilst a catchy bassline rides along underneath. A catchy vocal hook dives in and out of the track as it goes through its many peaks and troughs, keeping you dancing from end to end. 

‘Sweet Drums’ completes the release, keeping its foot firmly on the gas. Rapid beat constructions and offbeat fills bounce off sizzling hats whilst a rolling bassline rumbles below. Keeping things moving at breakneck speed, subtle melodic elements fly in and out of the mix throughout whilst the track continues its onslaught of pounding rhythm and hands-up energy.

Kardox - Boom Beat [Preview]

Following two previous outings on Black Seven Music - Merseyside’s Copasetic returns to stake his claim with a standout two-track EP. Quickly becoming one of the UK’s most promising underground names, he leaves it all on the table with his ‘Don’t Waste’ EP.

Kicking things off, ‘Don’t Waste’ features a resounding amount of Copasetic’s signature gritty style. Building off rolling grooves and scattered percussion, acid-tinged sub-bass drives the track forwards whilst layers of contrasting harmonic factors dart around the mix. Weighty, assertive and endlessly danceable stuff.

The aptly named ‘Beside’ makes up the other half of the release, featuring more rich analogue sounds. Attitude-laden from the first bar, a hotbed of kicks, claps, hats, percs and bass notes all fly in and out of one another to create a resounding beat structure. This track is all about movement, with sudden introductions of fills, vox chops and individual melodic injections - all adding even more flavour to the melting pot.
