Deep Breakfast 167 - Echo and Rauschen

Traditionally a real-time improviser, Thorn applies the same method here: live improvisation, spontaneous structure-building, and experimental mélanges of violin and code. Many of its foggy textures derive from Haze, a tool he developed for generating densely patterned lo-fi soundscapes.

A sonic memoir imbued with violin and experimental code, a curious doubling of terms begins at the churning waters of Necarney Creek merging with the Pacific. Unfolding from pure lyricism into machinic textures, the music summons the verdant twilight of the primeval forest and the glow of the city lights it ad-umbrates. The machinic is both refuge and trial in this work, though the final word is the fracturing, hard-driven logic-become-logistics that may signal a morbid dénouement.

If there was ever a timeless form of music, one could argue it is dub techno. From his drifting, weightless chords to the sheets of melancholic atmosphere he crafts, Fingers in the Noise has proven himself to be a true purveyor of this sound. As profound as any basic channel record, his albums create an expansive space within which the listener can truly exist. Since 2009 he has been churning out the highest quality dub techno and ambient music on his own Fitn Personal Records imprint as well as many others, so it was only natural that we ask him to cook up something special for UNRUSH. Every time I see the calm sea
I remember voices from my childhood,
I look for a word that was never spoken.

The sea is calm, like the face of a child after dark night’s
unrest. I love its breathing, the movement of waves, like a
mother’s breath, are so loving that in the past they

put out the alarm, the storm, the fears of childhood
and now calm some future alarm and fears and storm
off the whole world’s coast. Yes, that was the moment I found

a word that had been spoken only once, maybe, or was never
spoken at all. All these storms are in me now, that’s
why I’m calm, I am the captain of all calmness, mother.

Inhmost is one of the monikers of S.Huxtable who wanted a representation for the more ambient and downtempo works that he creates which would allow the freedom of expression within these genres.

The goal of the Inhmost sound is to blend deep atmospheric feelings and organic nature that combine into a dreamlike state of mind that come straight from the heart.  The intention is that whilst listening to the music the listener is transported to calmer places of beauty and of light and shade.

Inhmost 는 앰비언트와 다운템포의 장르적 범주에서 자유로운 표현을 지향하는 S.Huxtable 의 또 다른 이름이다. Inhmost 사운드의 목적은 깊은 대기적 감정들과 유기적 자연을 섞어내어 마음에서 우러나오는 꿈과도 같은 정신으로 결합하는 것이다. 
그 의도는 음악을 듣는동안 청자들이 아름다움, 그리고 빛과 어둠의 고요한 공간으로 이동하기를 위한 것이다.
