After the whirlwind of Summer forced us to take a brief pause, Unrush has returned to ease us into the quiet once again with a schedule packed full of subdued sonics. First up is our latest team member Irakli, who needs no introduction for those embedded within the music scene. Founder of the STAUB events in Berlin and a member of the now-defunct I/Y project, Irakli has been a key figure in the underground for years as a DJ, producer and impeccably skilled designer. Recently he has started working with talented and underappreciated artists from his home country of Georgia, giving them a platform to release, experiment and perform with his Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound imprint. His own sound gleefully defies definition, bending the limits of reality to succumb to his emotive universe. As he has been a part of the Unrush team for some time, we found it only natural to have him bless our ears with an hour of his musical musings...

2009-2019 : Space mixes # 1 to 9. In 2009, I started mixing live ambient sets at my radio show, each saturday afternoon in Québec city. I don't think more than 6 people were listening (including my GF at that time) but later on, in 2011, I published the first one on Soundcloud : Space III. Now after 30 000 plays of them, I decided to make a best of mixing the best of them. The result is a spaced-out mix that might seriously soothe your mind & body. Pillow not included but highly recommended ! Space 10 : over 4 h 00 of ambient, drones and flying soundscapes in Space!

Our next guest is as cinematic as he is musical, creating a psychedelic noir within his carefully crafted narratives. Hórnbęrg hails from Berlin and has developed his ear within the rich cultural context the city provides since the late 90s. With influences such as Scanner, Alva Noto, Björk, Ø aka Mika Vainio, Pan Sonic or Irakli present in this mix, he showcases his thorough knowledge of underground and experimental music history. As a DJ he has the palate of a true record digger, equally comfortable playing bizarre, left-field records as he is more traditional ambient and techno. This has led to appearances at renowned clubs in Berlin such as ://about blank, Tresor, and Griessmühle as well as abroad. Also a passionate curator, he started the *Gramofonowa podcast in 2015 as a platform to support a diverse set of artists in their endeavors. After observing his curatorial prowess we found it fitting to give him a platform of his own. Josephine’ Soundscapes is a project comprising sound collages and Dj sets that embrace certain atmospheres of escape and electricity, a collection of random sequences, pensive oscillations, erratic voices drifting across decades (from landscape to living room), nocturnality and a rare, as in slight, intensity. Part of creative cell a_mal_gam_a, with deejay Diskoan, he spreads his hypnagogic shroud over a number of club nights and special events, like from his residency at listening club Avalovara, DANCE CAVE or CALMA. Josephine’ Soundscapes is an experimental incarnation of transversal studio Machines Désirantes Buró, based in Madrid.

Josephine 의 사운드스케이프는 랜덤 시퀀스들, 깊은 진동, 수십 년 동안 표류하는 불규칙한 목소리 (경관부터 거실로), 드물게 강렬함 (경관) 을 수용하는 사운드 콜라주와 DJ 세트로 구성된 프로젝트다. 
Diskoan 과 함께 창작집단 a_mal_gam_a 의 멤버로써, 클럽 Avalovara 의 레지던시부터 특별한 이벤트까지 여러 최면적인 장을 만들어오고 있다.
Josephine 의 사운드스케이프는 마드리드의 스튜디오 Machines Désirantes Buró 에서 실행되는 실험적인 자아이다.

CALMA is a platform dedicated to less conventional electronic music with an horizontal vocation. The group consists of F-on, Vrika, Diskoan and Josephine from a_mal_gam_a, and they are working from Madrid, Spain, since 2019.

Enjoy TET 05 - Radio 80000 - 10.12.2020

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

This month we have invited super inter to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero-patriarchal systems of oppression.
