Whether under his Dream Weapons or Fantastikoi Hxoi aliases or more his more extensive output as https://soundcloud.com/anatolianweapons, Aggelos’ output is one to get lost in, where each project feels like a conversation between worlds that don’t usually meet. With Anatolian Weapons, that conversation comes into sharper focus: what began as an experiment in bridging the sharper edges of EBM and krautrock with the circular, percussive energy of Greek folk music has turned into a fully formed and consistent thread through his output of EPs and albums.

His first full-length as Anatolian Weapons arrived via the legendary Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space label back in 2019 - a move that pulled ancient melodies into unfamiliar territory and a statement piece at the time. Fast forward to 2024’s Beyond, and that sense of push and pull is still present, only now with more intent and confidence. It’s music that leans into repetition and rhythm without losing sight of where it came from.

Aggelos’ isolatedmix feels like a natural continuation. There’s no strict mood or genre at play, but rather a slow reveal, drawing on the same tensions and textures that have defined Baltas’ path so far. It’s a pleasure to have him contribute with such a dreamy trip through the many facets of his influences.

It’s a genuine delight to welcome Sarah Wreath to the Unrush mix series. 

Sarah and Mareena first met at SuperBooth in 2018 - a wonderful, annual playground for synth lovers in Berlin. They were both working at the front desk, surrounded by machines, cables, curious conversations, and the kind of people who speak fluent modular. It was one of those encounters that sticks. Since then, their paths kept crossing at different corners of the music world, always briefly, but with a deep mutual respect and warmth.

Sarah’s mix for Unrush feels like slipping into a slow, sonic ritual: deep, patient, and textured with intention. At times, it´s layers reveal a delightful obscurity, inviting you to explore unexpected twists and hidden depths. You can sense her background in sound research and therapeutic practice, as well as her love for psychedelic edges and raw, old-school techno. As a producer, she has released her debut LP on The Bunker New York in 2024 and has recently dropped fresh collaborative tracks with Sandwell District.

Here for Unrush, the mix isn’t just a selection of tracks. It’s a carefully curated journey that moves through space and feeling. Lean back, close your eyes, and enjoy the ride...

Contributing our latest episode is London’s ANNX, a regular figure within the city’s cutting-edge undercurrent whose many contributions include co-curation of the Whomp, Perspectives, and once-shrouded Magick events, and a residency at the beloved Above Below festival. Anna’s tireless dedication to the scene goes hand-in-hand with her unmistakable talent behind the decks, as evidenced by an impressive repertoire of mixes and set recordings, and which I was fortunate enough to witness first-hand last summer in the Chilterns. Here Anna demonstrates her well-honed craft over the course of two meticulously plotted hours, diving seamlessly into manifold forms of deep, heavy psychedelia before emerging in a wave of euphoric bliss. It's a set of ambient & orchestral compositions that follow the story of Ulenth, the Mists traveler, as he arrives in the fabled world of El' Azar and explores it. Two different parts compiled into one album coming straight from the time I experimented a lot with music. I hope you enjoy!
