A glimmer of sunlight can go a long way to overcome darkness. As we reach the peak of summer, we thought it appropriate to invite our dear friend Sirko Müller back to contribute another of his classic vinyl dub mixes for those long days in the sun. As one of the founding members of Tokomak Records company, he is well known for his diverse sound, steeped in the rich history of Detroit where he draws a lot of his influence. More recently, Müller has also been putting on regular dub radio shows along with Stojche, Oracy (Don Williams) and Francesco Devincenti at the excellent d59b bar as “Dribbling". This mix similarly serves as a celebration of everything dub, with a careful and tasteful selection that spans the genre's history. So open up the umbrella, lather yourself in sunscreen, and dive deep into the (sound) waves with this 2-hour mix of pure dub bliss.

Spinning Grounds w/ Sarah Wreath

@sarahwreath is a Berlin-based DJ, sound practitioner and sound engineer. If listening, collection, and selection have been daily habits since her youth, the processes of production and the exploration of frequencies became the most important practices of her last years in Berlin.

In order to expand her knowledge of physical mechanics and the technical aspects of music, she has dedicated herself full-time to sound research and music production since 2020. In Sarah’s vision there’s no prevailing preference over the role of producer or DJ - no hierarchical distinction amongst the club’s dancefloor, the acoustic hall or healing sound bath.
In the same perspective, both the creator and the careful selector of music & sound are entrusted with the power of touching the body-mind complexities of listeners and dancers with forceful acoustic messages.

'Spinning Grounds' by @katharina-davids is all about opening grounds for newcomers to spin their music - to explore genres from house, Detroit, dub techno to break beat.

To ease you into 2017, we bring you a sublime mix of electronic mood music...

Tokyo based producer, DJ, synthesiser and keyboard player @sapphire-slows has been seducing the senses since 2011 with peculiar tunes that show her deep love for slow-mo grooves, stoned chants and delicate melodic atmospheres.

To date, she has released one album and three EP's on labels such as mythical L.A. based addresses, Not Not Fun and 100% Silk, as well as Tokyo based Big Love Records.

For the Edwin Music Channel, Sapphire Slows has put together a mix jam-packed with shadowy sound textures, mazy rhythms, freak-out jazz situations and opaque bubbling club motifs.

D’Marc Cantu (Nation, MOS, Crème / US)

D'Marc Cantu or DMC as he is sometimes known, started working on Acid house in 2000 after meeting fellow artist James T. Cotton (JTC). By melding his love of Acid house, experimental noise and his background in percussion he quickly started creating what would later be coined as "Jakbeat". 

In 2005 Cantu and JTC formed 2Am/Fm releasing 3 floor banging albums and several songs on Ghostly International’s sister label Spectral. In 2006 he teamed up with Traxx & JTC to create X2, releasing Primitive Cypher on Relief Records from Chicago. 

Since 2006 he has worked on MOS and Crème Organization making numerous Detroit and Chicago inspired tracks.
