It's May 1st and we're delighted to share with you a new mix from Vancouver, Canada based LVT, guru of the superb Music For Interstellar Spacecrafts podcast channel. Nikki has been DJing and organizing events for more than a decade, currently operating Vancouver's DOLLY which delivers some of the best underground parties in her city. She's made mixes for many great podcasts such as Deep Breakfast, Monument, Delayed, and Precept, just to name a few; Here she takes us on an interstellar journey through dreamy ambient, lunar experimental music, syncopated and precise rhythms, smooth grooves and hypnotic techno. Accents Podcast Series #032 - LVT

We are so happy to kick our Podcast Series back into gear with a long anticipated recording from the UK-based duo Plantera called 'Cosmozoa' ~ based on theories of intergalactic spores transferring life to other planets 🌱

I met Lewis and Mason last year at the intimate Sonic Rites gathering, nestled in the wilds of the beautiful Welsh countryside. Smitten by their soothing afternoon set, I knew I needed to approach them and ask if they’d be keen to record a mix for the series ~ and they said yes 💍

So here it is, a magical musical offering born out of synergy between two close friends sharing deep understanding of and passion for music that touches the soul and soothes the mind. And what better time to dial
in this hour and a half journey than after the long weekend of Bank holiday frolics. Sit back, close your eyes and let it take you on a comic ride through soft edged ambient and downtempo psychedelia 💫

The guys also shared a little message for us too to accompany the mix: “Join us on this journey of cosmozoa; ejected into the ether from unknown coordinates, floating aimlessly through primordial dust until being grasped into the orbit of Plantera - gliding through the atmospheric haze before breaking out into blissful serenity, absorbing the sights and sounds of this unfamiliar world while sailing on it's winds"

Over the years Timnah has established a reputation for expansive and visionary selections without equal, lending her voice to the beloved Amentia and A Walking Contradiction collectives and leading audiences into captivating unknowns worldwide. Recorded live in the French countryside at the peak of summer, Timnah’s set smolders with delicate tension, lacing outward like tendrils upon shattering glass. Today’s Pink Moon carries a gentle magic and is a perfect moment to share something truly special. Aligned with the energy of this lunar phase and her recent EP Pink Noise on Unrush, we couldn't imagine a better time to release Banu’s stunning mix for us.

Born in south-east Turkey, Banu is a DJ, producer, and sound artist who uses music as a political tool - a vehicle to express deep emotion and challenge systems of oppression. Her work sits at the intersection of contemporary art and activism, weaving together participation, social design, ecology, and feminist and queer theory into powerful multimedia installations where sound takes center stage.

This mix is a beautiful reflection of Banu’s multifaceted practice. Blending immersive soundscapes, Downtempo, and exceptional sound design, it’s a sonic journey that speaks to both the personal and the political - featuring some of our favorite artists and sounds we hold close. London-based artist Sybil is a true storyteller behind the decks, celebrated in equal measure for her cinematic take on techno as she is for crafting deep ambient journeys that soothe the soul. Whether for the dancefloor or for introspective listening, her selections are always guided by a distinct emotional depth, weaving intricate sonics with a healthy dose of psychedelia for good measure. 

Exploring the inspiration for this flawless session, Sybil describes it as:

“I’ve dived deep into the ocean for this mix, a wave through time, flowing between psychedelia of the 70s, 90s, present-day and beyond. A modern take on 90s chillout mix CDs, a meditation on the ocean, a sun-soaked holographic daydream by the sea ~~~”

His work explores the fringes of techno, jungle, dub, and ambient, building immersive sound worlds that defy easy categorization. Known for his meticulous approach to production and his ability to weave complex narratives through sound, Felix K has carved out a unique space for himself in the global underground scene.

For this marathon journey, Felix K delivers a masterclass in patience and precision, guiding listeners through a three-hour odyssey that is as introspective as it is rhythmically compelling. The mix is a testament to his expansive musical knowledge and his ability to connect seemingly disparate genres into a cohesive, flowing narrative.

In his own words: "The mix was recorded in my studio in Berlin. Beginning with slower Dub Techno, it slips into the early, minimalist 85/170 Drum-and-Bass era, showcasing plenty of those formative highlights before closing with authentic Amen Breaks combining with a sound design that actually anticipates the vibe of some of today’s darker techno productions."
